Obituary - Albertus Abel 'Al' Paules
#1 Sep 8, 2007
My uncle, Albertus Paules died on August 30th in Emlenton, PA where he had resided since retiring. Al lived in Montgomery from the mid 60's to the mid 80's. He was a History Teacher at Valley Central High School and very active in local Democratic politics serving as County Executive and Democratic Chairman of Orange County. I am looking to post a death notice in one of the local papers, perhaps the Warrick Valley dispatch and am looking for information regarding the dates he may have taught and dates he served as Executive and Dem. County Chair. Any one able to help me out may contact me via email at email@example.com Thank you, Sean Mack

Mr. Paulus was hired as one of the first teachers for the consolidated school district of Valley Central on April 1, 1961. He retired from Valley Central in June of 1985. I recommend you post the obituary in the Times Herald Record out of Middletown, NY. Most people in the area would appreciate knowing about Al's passing.

I knew Al, his wife Norma and daughter Theresa. My dad & Al were very good friends (both very Democratic and politically active). I remember many election nights when we all met at our house to tally votes being called in from the polling places. We had a Saturday night poker night at the house and Al and norma were regulars (just penny ante stuff). Al taught at Valley Central while I was there. His wife Norma had previously taught phy.ed before I came to the school system. Norma was killed in a car accident when a deer came through the windshield of her little MG sports car. Al wasn't the same after the loss. By then, daughter theresa was pretty much on her own. From what I understand, she married and lived in PA this is why Al moved there. i heard he met a gal from montgomery but I don't know if they actually married. I believe her name was Wilde. Anyway, I happened to google al's name after finding my old HS year book and I was curious as to what he was up to. I now know. Thanks for the posting. I hope this info. helps. Holly
