Why so loud? I live across the river from downtown and my windows are rattling. So, I call a friend who lives down past the Walmart...more than a mile away...and says he's bar-be-cuing come on....I get to his house, and I could still hear the noise from the river bank! No, it wasn't loud down his way, but come on! over a mile away and you can still hear it? That's ridiculous. How much physical damage is being done to people's hearing who are sitting right in front of the speakers? Sue 'em all!

Good. I thought I had missed something special. They want you to buy a ticket but music blasting a mile away. Natchitoches.

The Regulators will be hosting their own Jass Festival soon. It'd all very quiet and no pictures or first or last names are alllowed. That may be more to your liking.

Yep they lost their tails. High ticket prices, the bad weather and the talent were all contributing factors. I bet most of the 10-11 individuals who went and took out a mortgage on their property to help pay for this event is depressed today. And who wants to hear the Moon Dogs...I sure don't.

Our highly anticipated Jizzfest begins at dusk on 4/20 with the annual Toke-n-Poke, followed by a weekend full of tunes and loose boom-booms. Headlining acts are blues legends Leadbottom and Blow Diddley. Also scheduled to appear are Booker T & the BJ's, The Village People, Curtis Gayfield, The Beatoffs, Wand Erection and the Backdoor Bois! Come early and come often for a weekend of buns-n- fun at the Regulators Clubhouse.

You would think having 2 years to plan for it they could have come up with better talent. Unless you're an old geezer like me you probably never heard of Starship or the Ohio Players. Guess they were cheap.

Bob, I couldn't agree more. The admission price is ridiculous, not to mention the overpriced food and beverages. Greed is going to kill the festivals and good things we have going on in our community. I am so tired of the Moondogs and Bad Apple. Both groups have been playing the same worn out songs for years. Not sure why people get excited over either band.

For the Geezer(ettes), I love the names as I aspire to be crotchety old geezer myself one day, the Ohio Players are actually internationally renowned and are truly a R&B group.

Ohio Players were an American funk, soul music and R&B band, most popular in the 1970s. They are best known for their songs "Fire" and "Love Rollercoaster".

In 2013, Ohio Players were inducted into the inaugural class of the Official R&B Music Hall of Fame that took place at Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Perhaps they should rename this festival as it is anything BUT Jazz and R&B music.

Ah Yes, I know them well and remember them from my 70's disco days. Always did like their music. I was just thinking that maybe they should get some bands that some of the younger folks are familiar with to have a better turn out. Crotchety old geezers like me aren't going to turn out in large numbers Not enough room for our walkers and scooters on the riverbank..
