Many commentators have speculated that Burrhead Jones was actually a white wrestler, who had previously been known as The Funny Man. He became known as Burrhead after he was tarred and feathered in a wrestling act, and he was such a hit, that he completely changed his identity to become Burrhead Jones, black man and wrestler. This is a fascinating story, I understand there was an HBO docudrama called "Black like Me" about the Burrhead Jones story in the 1980's, does anyone know how to get it? Many thanks

This is a bunch of crap. Burrhead Jones is Melvin Nelson and is definitely a black man. Where do people come up with this stuff? Really?!

I used to work at a plant in Moncks Corner that he also worked at. He is a black man and very proud of his wrestling back ground.
