if he is such a nice guy then why don't he get out there and do his job by stopping this stupid people from spinning their tires in the middle of the night. when some people got jobs to go to and don't want to listen to that all night. LOUD PIPES EXPECILLY. p.s. what about the tire marks in front of the church that some one left there.

Guest: Thank you, I appreciate the information. I (and most other people in Montgomery) had already figured out who he was. I also find that absolutely hilarious, but the Lord says vengeance is His.
Snake: I don't know where you have gotten your information from about how and why Kevin came to Northside, but they are incorrect. He was brought to out church by our pulpit committee, and yes we voted him in as our pastor. It is also not uncommon for a church to ordain a pastor (Union Hill did the same thing to their pastor. I don't see you ridiculing them). As far as him becoming chief, the church had nothing to do with that. In fact, there were several members that were concerned with him becoming the chief. He assured us that if the job of chief interfered with his position as pastor that he would step down. It has NOT. He still performs all his duties as pastor. He is still there for anything the people in the church need. He counsels. He visits the sick. He makes phone calls and checks on people. He goes into the school and speaks to the students. He brings the Word of God on Sunday mornings and leads Bible study on Sunday night. He also leads Bible study/prayer meeting on Wednesday night.
So, once again....if you have a problem with Kevin, take it up with Kevin. Leave the church out of it. You have no idea what you are talking about where the church is concerned. And whomever you are getting your information from obviously doesn't have a clue what's going on either and is only being a gossip and trying to start trouble.
Oh and by the way, let me address the gun permit thing: He is providing a service for the community. The church is providing the place for it. Does this mean the church should not help out the community? So when people need to use the church for funerals, baby showers, weddings, women's night out, men's prayer breakfast, youth rallys, etc.....we shouldn't let them. There are churches all throughout our community that volunteer their facilities for things such as these; however, I don't see you degrading them for it. I guess the hunter's safety class he is providing for our youth this fall is a bad thing too, huh?!
You really need to release your hatred. It's not good for you physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually.

Snake, Guest, ABC ya'll have this thing going on about the preacher/chief. Let me get in here. Where I come from you work for your money and respect is earned. I don't see that is happening with the chief. MOST of Montgomery is asking where the cops are, you NEVER see one. So it's fair to ask if he is doing the job he is paid to do. And it has been told that the preacher has said that the people in town have to respect him but he does not have to respect them. IF that is true, and I say IF, it is a sad day to think a man of God would think that way let alone say it.

Sure wish when you visited you would have come talked to me. I'm betting that is just another bunch of bologna. I don't know if he would leave or not if he was fired as chief. He was at the church before he became a police officer. However, if the Lord is leading him elsewhere then that is between him and the Lord above. It has nothing to do with whether or not he keeps a position as chief. You keep saying its all about the "money honey" but I don't see him rolling in the dough. How many people do odd jobs to make extra money for their family? I understand that is not the way for many people in our lovely town, but even I have done extra jobs to help make ends meet when needed. You can't fault him for that. Just because you can't do what he does, doesn't make it a bad thing.

There is just no arguing with ignorance. You seriously need to educate yourself on things before you spout things.
No one is worshiping Kevin. There is no proof that he cursed a woman on a traffic stop. In fact, prove it because he has a camera in the car. As far as the "shoot him" comment? Idk I wasn't there. I have no doubt that it was taken out of context, but if not, you are correct, he should not say such things; however, when the emotion of anger comes out, things happen and are said that shouldn't be. That's not an excuse for it, and if he did he should ask for forgiveness for the Lord above. Also, he is not a con-artist. He definitely does not mind telling anyone about his faults. No one is fooled by him, especially those that are close to him.
Who says that he has to choose between being a cop and pastor? The Bible? Nope. You? Who are you to make that decision?
Northside will be fine. Once again I don't know where you are getting your information, but we are doing just fine. Whomever you are getting your info from is incorrect in their thinking. You seriously need to leave the church out of your rantings.

i think you may be getting my point. I'm not worried that you have a problem with Kevin. I don't appreciate the church being brought in to your rantings. If you have a problem with him, discuss him and leave Northside out of it. Now, with that being said, I would like to point something out.(I'm not judging. I'm not trying to be mean. I'm just stating basic facts) Even if someone is a Christian, you will have anger. The way you handle that emotion will change, but Christians are not perfect and they will fall. Christians are to strive to be Christ-like. Even the Bible tells us in Romans that we ALL fall short of the glory of God. But thanks to the mercy and grace of our Lord God Almighty, we can be cleansed and freed from our sins. Once we are His NO ONE can snatch us from him (also in the Bible). Kevin is not perfect. He fails just like the rest of us. I have not agreed with everything he has done since arriving in our town, but he is my pastor and I support him. He is our chief of police and I support him. Instead of tearing down our town officials or any leaders of our country, we should pray for them daily that they will allow the Lord to lead them and guide them in their actions and decisions.
Like I said, if you have a problem with him, ok. BUT the church should stay out of it.

The church did not force anyone to do anything. I was at that meeting as well. I don't think anyone from the church even spoke. We were there in support of our pastor. To show that we didn't have a problem with him doing both jobs. He never said that he would leave if he didn't get more money. He was told what the church would pay before he ever came here to meet with anyone. There were numerous discussions held between deacons and members of the church about how this could hurt the church, but in the end we decided that it is doable. Kevin said from the beginning that if the police job interfered with his job as pastor that he would step down as chief. It has not. He still performs his duties as pastor of Northside Baptist Church. As far as the gun permit classes, he is offering a service. Same as when the church is open to people to hold baby showers or funerals and they are not members of the church. He allows the school to use the facility for fundraisers. He allowed wheyerhauser to use the facility for their job fair. We are hosting a community fish fry fellowship today as well. Not to mention the hunter's safety course that is being offered in August for our youth. Are these things wrong? Nope. He is trying to reach our community. It's a way of opening the church to those who otherwise would not step foot in a place of worship.
You really need to get past this jealousy issue that you have toward him. It is not healthy for you emotionally, physically, or spiritually. Things like this have a way or wearing a person down and driving them to the brink of disaster. Then it throws you into a downward spiral that is impossible to bring yourself out of. Ask God to forgive you. Pray for him to soften your harden heart. Call on Him for guidance. Trust in Him to lead you in a path of righteousness.
