Anybody know of any haunted places in Montgomery?

YEA!Try the old Fletcher house in Hargis. Has been renovated by Troy Jackson when they lived there. Told me that an old slave owner and big farmer was killed by one of his slaves. Climbed into a upstairs room and slit his throat. Buried him in a field behind his house and when there is a storm, his ghost will sometimes be seen roaming around because he is not at peace because he did not believe in GOD and dared GOd to strike him with lightening when he would go out and rant and rave when it was lightening. Understand he was a very mean to his slaves. Wont say his name but that man was the great granfather of one of our retired grocery store owners in Montgomery; would not want to embarass him but I understand he knows about this and thinks its funny. Just saying!

Yes, and his tomb that was in the field behind his house has been struck by lightening 3 different times. The mrker is not there now. Good story abot it in a book that a Ms. Dyson wrote about the Hargis area and its chuch. Talk to some of the elders in town. They probably heard stories about it from their grandparents. Good Luck, but leave that haunt out there---dont bring to Montgomery, cause I believe this type of stuff. Too many coincidentals sometime about these old tales for it not to be something to some of it.
