"All democracies turn into dictatorships but not by coup. The people give their democracy to a dictator, whether its Julius Caesar or Napoleon or Adolf Hitler. Ultimately, the general population goes along with the idea...Thats the issue that Ive been exploring: How did the Republic turn into the Empire...and how does a democracy become a dictatorship?" Star Wars filmmaker George Lucas\par
"Is America on the brink," at that point in its history in which the citizens will give up their liberty willingly, and submit to a dictatorship.

The only reason you think any of this nonsense is because you and the rest of the Old Whiteman Party are on the short end of the stick. Majority rules in democracies no matter how shallow the ideas of the Minority are. With my Cellphone, Laptop, Big Screen TV's, Multiple Vehicles, Real Estate Holdings, Freedom to watch many points of opinion on many channels, and outstanding vacations it sure doesn't feel like a Dictatorship to me. The only thing that remotely feels like that is lunkheads like yourself with a house full of ammo and semi- automatic weapons within your shallow minded reach. Peace Out Bro......

Majority of Rich Want Themselves Taxed More: Poll

House Republicans are opposing tax increases on anyone - whether it's Americans making $250,000 or $1 million or more a year.

But a new survey shows that they might be opposing the very people they claim to protect.

American Express Publishing and The Harrison Group found that 67 percent of the top one percent of American earners support higher income taxes. Their support has grown since the election. This summer, 62 percent of them supported higher taxes.

If anyone wants to sent money a gift of money to the U.S. government they can do it. "Citizens who wish to make a general donation to the U.S. government may send contributions to a specific account called "Gifts to the United States." This account was established in 1843 to accept gifts, such as bequests, from individuals wishing to express their patriotism to the United States. Money deposited into this account is for general use by the federal government and can be available for budget needs. These contributions are considered an unconditional gift to the government. Financial gifts can be made by check or money order payable to the United States Treasury and mailed to the address below.

This is, however, a republic with an equal protection clause in effect. If the majority desire the government to take a certain action, then the government should do so. Not only has the majority in the US expressed support for higher taxes upon part of the citizens, but those affected have so expressed such a desire.

The government is satisfied to take in taxes what the tax codes require of citizens. Polls taken are like statistics, they can be used to prove almost any point that anyone wants to make.

Johnny, why don't you just admit it. The American people are willing to do what's necessary to make this work. You and those of your ilk should move out of the way and stop obstructing progress.

By the way, Happy 3d day of Christmas.

"There are two kinds of public bribery- The first, the spoils of office, the
second, the directer process of legislating away the property of one class and transferring it to another." Russell Kirk

I understand why many people who would be on the receiving end of the largess, ie, welfare,in one form or another, supplied to them, by putting more tax on the wealthy would signify in a poll that they were in favor of the wealthy being taxed more and I can understand why democrats like Buffet, And G.E. CEO would vote for more taxes since there is"Obama Money"to be had if they play the game along with the democrat party.
How many people, for instance, would vote to raise the taxes on the person on this blog, using the name 'ERIC,' if they thought that ERIC's Tax money he had to pay in would benefit them personally.
And this is what happened when a percentage of the people polled, were asked if they thought it would be a good thing if the wealthy paid more taxes, they believed that they would get a piece of ERIC's tax money he was forced to pay in. Theres nothing like being generous when its other peoples money that your being generous with that is being doled out especially when it was extracted from the person either by law or at the point of a gun. It makes little difference, the results are the same, the person who's money is forcefully taken from them has still been robbed and the discretion of determining the use of his property taken from the individual.

The problem is that the question was only asked of people who would have to pay additional taxes. Therefore, your analogy doesn't work.

btw, what makes you think that I am not one who would pay the additional taxes?

Happy 3d day of Christmas, Johnny.

Yea, it's easy to give support to take someone else's money. Who have expressed support, the Hollywood elite? Show me those making 250k-1m expressing support. Look at California, almost bankrupt, a growing percentage of the population in poverty and the largest illegal population in the US. It just so happens that the "majority" in this state just voted to increase taxes on those making 250k +. Like 250k in Cali is being "rich"... again, it's not their money they are giving away. F'ing JOKE! Soon, they will run out of the "rich" peoples money and be forced to go after yours. They are just paving the way to take more of everyones money.
