An Oswego Metra station? Not so fast
Oswego Village Board members learned this past week construction of a Metra commuter rail station in the village is likely years away-if one is built at all.Full Story

Oswego (population 30,000) has been talking about getting a train station since 2002, and they now say that it's still years away. What's very amusing, is that they built a train station in Elburn, and their population is only 10,000... What a joke.

I agree this current cast of board members, Village President seem to always fall short. I feel sorry for all the retail on Orchard that was counting on this station. They are also spinning now how there is interest in the Circuit City Unit as well as the Lowe's building. I'll believe it when I see it. Then you have Westphal Chevy asking for some help and not getting it as well as the Alexander Lumber Property asking the same with same result. The Non-Forward Innovation of this community keeps our tax rates up and our values lowering by the minute. Of course we have the Solar park coming to the south end of town....SURE!

Having a train here would be wonderful! I personally take the train at least 2 or 3 times a month and having to take a cab to aurora gets expensive i would to be able to walk to a train station here in oswego
