The village of Oswego just sent out a form asking questions of me that I view as an invasion of my privacy as well as a open invitation to burglars using the information that I was asked to provide the villege.
Is this a indication of big brother looking out for our welfare or is this a villege assuming privileges they're not entitled to under a republic form of government.
The form that the Oswego villege said was to be used to Register homes alarm systems but asks people to declare things tha a burglar would find useful before they broke into a home, the questions that were asked that buglars would like to know before deciding which houses to break into are: do you have a alarm system, do you have a dog,do you have a safe, do you have a gun or guns .Should the villege ask that...

Interesting. The village requires all business registrer annually. With a fee, of course. We were recently subjected to a fire inspection of the premises . Two ladder trucks and an a ambulance crew - just to go thru this small business. No courtesy call prior to the intrusion, invasion, whatever you want to call it,
The annual form submitted to the village, however, is not shared with the fire department..
When asked many similar questions, I presented the OFD with a copy of the annual registration. The rep of the OFD said it would be nice if the Village of Oswego shared that information. Yea. Good idea. Idiots
Seriously. We are a village of idiots
It is all about the fees (taxes)

Dare not question the authorities or their motives.
Might be considered negative.

A thinking individual would never want to wonder what the authorities are contemplating.

It would show a complete lack of intelligence, would it not?

WTF?

Oh well. People keep electing the same type people over and over, then wonder why their rights and freedoms get taken away everyday.

I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.- James Madison

I can easily provide a PDF version of the form. Not sure how to post it on topix, however. But you could also easily find it on the village website as well. I mean, government Transperancy being what it is supposed to be. And no, I did not look for it on the web site. But it is there Somewhere. Really it is I have already seen the form. Going to a government website looking for simple answers is a sad monolith of a joke.

For the slow, clueless and otherwise easily offended people on this forum, that was a joke you may not get.

No, Johnny. You should not answer those questions. And you are right to question the form. BS. Just fill out your name and address. N/A on the rest of it.

Thank you for your reply...
If people submissively cave in to governments continued intrusions into their privacy, where will government's probing end?
