Let's look at both sides of this - on one side, yes, plastic bags are really bad for the environment, along with every other disposal plastic item, cars for instance. On the other side, most of us do recycle our bags, either at the supermarket itself or for use as small garbage bags or as pooper scoopers or as recycle containers etc. And there is the economic side (a 3rd side?) some people are on such tight budgets (elderly, disabled, working poor, none working poor) that to go out and buy the several cloth bags that it takes to do a month's shopping can mean that there is one or possibly more days that someone is not eating. If they pay for the several paper bags that are one use everytime they go shopping they can run into the same issue, plus it is IMPOSSIBLE to carry more than two paper bags on the public transit that many people use due to either economic situations.

The banning of single use paper bags from being given out for free is a definitely a step in the right direction. Plastic bags are given out too freely now, with cashiers putting every thing in a bag, even single items like an apple or a banana. Given that it is assumed that most people use over 130 bags each year, it is essential that everyone starts making changes to be more environmentally conscious. The majority of the plastic bags used are not even recycled and instead sent to landfills, or worse, they wind up on beaches, roads, and sidewalks. Not to mention the thousands of blastic bags flouting in the ocean and consequentially effecting marine life.
This new law is going is the first step in making California and plastic-bag-free state.

Radical Long Beach Council led the nation when it imposed Lowenthal grocery and goods bag harassment taxes on hungry grocery shoppers who do not use taxpayer funded food stamps or EBT cards. Council was able to do this by criminalizing competitive minded non-union grocers who provide free carry out grocery bags.

Council distracted attention away from the real purpose of the law by claiming the tax was imposed for the purpose of "helping the environment". This is part of Council's two-front war capability that includes the war against decent women and men who smoke tobacco.

Since Council began its war against the many decent voters who smoke tobacco, Long Beach has been found to have some of the most polluted air in the entire nation. Little children residing in the city breathe that foul air.

Yet, wealthy politically connected fast food operators are exempted from Council's Lowenthal harassment tax provisions. It is not uncommon to see overweight customers openly carrying "to go" hamburger bags to their overtaxed automobiles. Yet, Governmental regulatory agencies must turn a blind eye because of the loophole their politician pals so generously provided them in the Lowenthal harassment tax bag law.

Now, a taxpayer funded university has made public disclosure of a recent expensive taxpayer funded study that shows air pollution from grilled hamburgers is Worse Than from trucks. Perhaps instead of harassing hungry grocery buyers and ordinary worker *("middle")* class taxpayers who enjoy the pleasure of an occasional tobacco product, extremist Council should be addressing REAL environmental issues.

Here is another article from Mother Jones:

These three women – Susan Rice, Hillary Clinton and Samantha Power – are the ones who orchestrated the overthrow of Mubarak and the killing of Gadhafi.

You might say,“But they meant well.” Yes, but the road to you-know-where is paved with good intentions.

They wanted to bring democracy to an area that isn’t ready for it, to a region that will never ever have a democracy.

They’re incapable of it.

This area, these people, this culture is never going to have a chance at democracy.

Democracy is not easy to achieve. The people need to have a basis for their democracy.

Fortunately for us, the people who founded America had a basis for their republic in the Christian Bible, which taught them compassion, constraint and other values that were necessary for a republic to arise out of the ashes of a revolution.

Those in the Middle East don’t have such a document. They have a document that is very different. Read it and you’ll find out what I’m talking about.

The average Middle Easterner doesn’t want to flip camel burgers. He would rather die.

But the mainstream media in the United States will not explain this to you.

Obama's African wife often rails against the obesity epidemic that is raging among her people, especially among the African female. It is unfortunate that she doesn't address the underlying cause of that epidemic.

The political ruling class is taking more and more hard earned tax money out of the pockets of the minority of Americans who pay taxes to pay for expensive food stamps and EBT "entitlements". The more tax money spent, the fatter the recipients become.

If Obama's wife is really serious about wanting to end obesity among her fellow Africans, she should join those who are expressing growing demands for the elimination of the taxpayer funded food stamp program.

This wasteful program cannot be ended overnight. Cuts will need to be gradual. A reasonable proposal would be for an immediate 25% cut, together with changing revolutionary law so "protected" competion-free unionized grocers are forced to collect Lowenthal grocery and goods bag harassment taxes from every grocery buyer who uses taxpayer provided food stamps, together with imposing a heavy Government "sugar tax" on soda pop.

Let's get the millions of little taxpayer supported fat children healthy again!

True, but didn't the loonies - through their taxpayer subsidized "non-profit" NGOs - demonize paper grocery bags as a primary cause of environmental genocide? Didn't they demonize paper bag users just as they demonized decent women and men who enjoy the simple pleasure of an occasional tobacco product, or who use salt to season their food, or who use environmental destroying toilet paper, saying trees needed to be cut down to produce paper grocery bags? Didn't they promote plastic bags as being "environmentally friendly" until the Obama economy tanked, causing oil prices to soar?

Yes. You are right. It is fitting tribute to America's long gone "better days" that Endeavor will be housed in a California museum. Future California inhabitants will look upon that monument and wonder what it was used for - if they bother themselves to wonder at all.

After the 60s 70s revolutionaries *(druggies)**(Godless secularist internationalist dreamers)* and their idiot "love children" seized control of California and reordered its society along revolutionary lines there was no going back.
