So it is only Hispanic illegals who are pulling their kids out of school? I am sure illegals from all races and ethnic groups are pulling thier kids out but only Hispanics seem to matter.

I wonder how many actually went through the process and withdrew their children from the schools? And how many just bailed out and left?

Well I guess the funding for the school will drop now too. Funding is based on the amount of students that are enrolled, so I guess my child will suffer from this. Teachers will definately suffer too as more jobs within the school system are cut too.

If that was the way schools are supposed to work, why don't we add more non-American students from other countries as well. By your formula the "money" will just keep rolling in as the student count goes up. If we could only get ALL of the students from around the world we might just be able to solve all of our economic problems in America. After all, schools are funded from a bottomless well of government gold right? Taxpayers are just people who whine about what they have to pay for their homes every year when school starts back up.

Of course, property taxes are supposed to support schools in their area so that students who complete their education will begin to contribute to the tax base themselves. But gee, that doesn't work out so well unless those students stick around and buy homes.

If we don't have enough American kids to fill the schools, shoring those numbers with the spawn of criminal border jumpers is a stupid way to deal with it. Like it or not, it may be time to close some schools and consolidate districts. That's what's supposed to happen. Not this "working the system" solution you have in mind.

Funding is based on official enrollment and is compiled before Sep 30. The judge's ruling, coincidentally, was made after the official enrollment tally [I do not believe in coincidence]. And the Hispanic children (and other immigrants) who simply "left school" without withdrawing will not impact the official tally for the FY 2011-12 school year.

that right there says it all about those against enforcing laws on illegal aliens, for some reason some think race needs to play a special spot and be over looked when the illegal alien is hispanic.

it points out maybe all others know it wrong its just the criminals who happen to be hispanic want special treatment do to they whine the most about laws.

one of the concerns/problems with the law is its vagueness. it is clear that any new enrollee this year would have to have their status listed. it is clear that anyone allready in the school this year does not. what is not clear is what happens at the beginning of next year as in al, technically, all students re-enroll. is it only for new, first time enrollees or is it for all enrollees therefore all will be checked? that is what causes the angst.
teachers don't even know.

The children of illegal border jumpers are being educated right beside your children and will graduate to take the jobs of your children. Don't you think it's worth going through the process of registering your child every year, if need be, to avoid this? Ask any teenager how they feel about competing with illegal workers for summer jobs.

Look up the term "parasite" on wikipedia. That is what illegal border juumpers are. This is not a race issue and it is not a rights issue (except for the way these illegal aliens abuse the rights of Americans). In our county we have to register every year to prevent students from being smuggled in from other districts. The effort is welcomed by us because it means our property tax money is only being used to educate OUR children.

really #1 i was just explaining the confusion around the law.#2 it doesn't bother me because for the most part we homeshooled. the eldest finished up in public school because he was a pretty good athlete.#3 no one took any summer jobs from me or my boys. i wish you would explain what summer jobs these illegals might be taking that our children would be loosing out on.

#4 how does registering every year prevent students from being smuggled into a district. wouldn't someone notice if a new student who wasn't on the rolls previously just happened to show up?
#5 and when the chicken plants and the rug manufactures shut down and move, when houses and store fronts stand empty what is that going to do to your tax dollars?
me thinks al communities have just shot themselves in the foot.

Obviously you misunderstood what I was saying. I do not condone anyone getting a free ride. This will be just another excuse by the government to underfund our children's schools. Don't be so quick to judge, I do have a job, i do pay taxes, and I know that this will end up hurtin our children. Tat's the point i am stressing.

If they just bailed and left, when they enroll their children in another school system in another state, their children will be offically withdrawn from their respective schools. It will be interesting to see how many actually left, and exactly what states in whch they will finally land.
