South still trying to negate the black vote

There are 24 comments on the www.nj.com story from Mar 7, 2012, titled South still trying to negate the black vote. In it, www.nj.com reports that:

Forty-seven years ago, marchers attempting to cross the William Pettis Bridge from Selma to Montgomery, Ala., to protest Jim Crow laws aimed at suppressing voting rights for African-Americans were savagely beaten by state police on foot and horseback.

One demonstrator was killed in the ensuing carnage and others suffered injuries. Television cameras documented the event for the world to see and a second march was successfully completed after President Lyndon Johnson federalized National Guard troops to protect demonstrators along the march route.

The only people who divine "code words" are those that use 'em.
And that would be the Left.
On the Right, we say what we mean, and nothing more.
When we say we oppose Obama because of his policies, we oppose him because of his policies, not for race
BTW, that "Southern Strategy" was a Dem tactic. In reality, it goes back to the Recontruction (and the KKK), but did not become a National phenomenon until LBJ used it in '64. Did Nixon use it, too? Yes, but it already existed. It's still used today, by Dems, to divide voters by race, location, ethnicity, etc. It's used to pander to the targets' most base instincts. "We" will take from X to give to Y, even if it damages both parties. "We" will interpret the law as "we" see fit, not as written, and certainly not equally.
As for "ignorance and lies"? Which Party promotes the myth that discouraging productivity enhances wealth and job creation? Which Party claims that race relations will improve by ignoring serious race based violence while divining thoughts and intent of non-favored races? Which Party discourages educational improvements, which may pull entire sectors of society out of poverty, while increasing funding for educational failures? Which Party excuses irresponsible behaviors while condemning the responsible?
The ignorance and lies lies with promotion of the lowest common denominators and "expecting" the best. The ignorance and lies lie with debasing the successful, or at least workable, in favor of the irreparably broken.
Wrong, wrong, and wrong.

"Law And Order"
"Birth Certificate."

Same crap from same crapmouths.

For your LCD, see tea-bag.

Poopoo.

I like the South, and her people; but I'm tiresd of the lies.

The Civil War was started by turncoats firing on their own flag; and was not a war of "Northern Aggression."

The issue was not "states rights," but rather the right of the non-slave states to prevent slavery from being spread to new territories and states.

General R.E. Lee was a traitor.

The typical southern soldier was a great fighting man; but was fighting the war of the wealthy, not unlike today's misguided tea-baggers.

I havn't met a real conservative in years, they are all dead.
The "religious right" tea-bag" lying-neo-conservative" Santorum religioso" or the whore-following Ginrich suporter" or the demented Paul folower"

None are ata ll Conseravtive. They are trying to twist and spin history to their own missapen superstition.

And most of the South is, and has been on FEDERAL WELFARE since the Civil War. You may not like it, but truth sometimes hurts. Sorry.

Yep, looks like you are a product of the "No child left behind program". Your bantering on the sanitized version of history being taught today is proof positive.
