Great job chief johnson. You have succeeded in undermining everything good about that department. Joseph Capps and Matt Henson (for the 3rd time) getting promoted. This looks real good. A screw up and a screw off running things. Great job!!! Glad i moved from there.

The local buss is that ole PK is at it again. Promoting the screw ups and shifting around the worker bees. I thought things were going well, plenty of cops seen out working around town, and now the shifts. And one of the Grays left, guess he has to do something to make up for his lack of leadership abilities.

I agree these men are doing their jobs. What I'm hearing around town is that the chief is shaking things up, moving people around just because.

one of the gray brothers did quit. jason gray, the fat one. millbrook would have a better department if the chief was a little more humble and didnt think he was the best at everything. he moves people around and takes things away to show them who the boss is. thats why they cant keep officers. its to bad because they have a few good ones.

So Gray is the last name of the officer. I don't recall him. What shift was he on? I know a few that stop in for coffee, friendly to me. So does he move them around to benefit to station or just being the "boss" That's one thing I never notice that the Asst Chief never hear anything from him, so he treats him that way to. Oh dear is he the one on 2nd shift real heavy grey (sort of grey hair? Wow I still think they do a good job, dont know whats going on inside, but at lease prattville is getting the sex offender officers now.

Susan must work there, because that's exactly what I've been hearing around town. Anon, looks like you're onto something. With the last chief PK did all the talking, now PK still does all the talking. Moving people around for no apparent reason, has to do all the talking, sounds like a complex or lack of confidence somewhere, doesn't it ?

I dont work there but I have a family member that does. From what I hear the chief takes care of the people he likes and screws everyone else over. hes big on letting you know hes the boss. from what I hear there is a whole lot of money spent on things they dont really need, especially with the officers making nothing compared to evry other department in the area. Its sad because some of them are good men who beleive in what they are doing. they have some bad ones to. especially on night shift. The asst chief is nice but he micromanages everybody to the point that nobody wants to do anything for fear of messing up.

Susan, since you said your name, who is your family member and why dont they speak if its such a big problem. reading the newspaper it is my understanding that they have been getting grants for these free service or whatever they are getting for free. At least someone trys to manage them, they need structure. I liked the old chief, but name some things that the old chief done compared to the new chief and asst chief. KIDS and COPS day was great. I am a single parent and I really depend on these guys when i need them.

I am really getting tired of reading all this negative crap from people who do not like and can not deal with change. The person responsible for post numbers 1,2,3 and 8 is a former employee who left with a bad taste in his mouth. The new chief and his assistant are not perfect but they are trying to move the department forward. The reason for what is contained in these post is easy to see through. A small group of officers dont want change. They want the good ole boy system to remain. They do not like the fact that they are expected to be loyal, work hard, be professional amd held accountable. Like them as individuals or not. The police department has been moving forward under the new leadership. There are a few with sour grapes that would have you believe otherwise. Look around. The Millbrook PD is geting the job done.

Thanks 1tiredcop! Millbrook is changing. The good ole boy system (chief bradley) is what they are stuck on. Get it together or look else where. Chief and Asst are doing their jobs. We needed change and if you not up for it then move on.

People you are going to have some good and bad. I think these guys are doing great compared to what we had in the past. All I can say is, if you could do better go and apply and see just how hard we have it within any department. I don't know whats wrong with people, I am an officer of 21 years not with Millbrook, but each dept has their screw ups, f^s and great loyal officers. Chief Johnson is a great person he can only do what is put in his hands and move forward. Asst Chief Montgomery, you can call him micromanager all you want, he has gotten that police departments grants, between the both they have made that department and the city to look up to them.

you must be joking if you are saying that the good old boy system is gone!!! the only thing that happened is that this chief has HIS group of people that he likes and shows favor to. just because someone applies for free money dosent make him a great assistant chief. Its what hes supposed to do isnt it???? i'm sure that most of the officers would rather have a decent salary so that they can take care of families instead of a laptop and a brand new car. and yes there are alot from the bradley era that are just upset with change but all the changes have not been good. ask all the people that get moved from shift to shift with no notice or care about there family life how great the changes are.

To Susan, there should not be a such thing as the good old boy system!!! "The Chief has his favors and shows favor to" Now you must be joking. Im pretty sure that that is not all the Asst Chief does, are you with them 24hours NO, just like you said "thats what he suppose to do" so you admit that they are doing their job, but in the same sense they are not, which one is it. If the officers did not agree with their salaries they should have applied else where right? They do deserve a raise, but have you thought that this is something the mayor approves. And if you are a citizen of Millbrook why dont you opt to pay more taxes for the officers to get a raise. If they didnt get proper transportation around and driving junkers then you will still complain, maybe the laptops help them do their jobs. If the "Bradley Era" doesnt like it then do just what he did "retire". FAMILY LIFE are you kidding ME, when a police officer, fireman walks out of their home, they are not certain to come back home, is there a notice for that NO. Susan I think you either need to apply at Millbrook or you just need to leave well alone. If you feel so boggled about the situation why dont you go and talk to the mayor!!! And since you getting all of this information from your family member, if they are just not that happy move on and why do you know more information as a family member than I do as a citizen here!!!!!!!!!! Maybe I will just go visit the department and ask, I do have that right..

Of course. If they don't like it they should just quit. Because decent jobs are so easy to come by right now. It's funny how all some people can say is "just quit" when someone voices concern about conditions at their job. Maybe people can't afford to quit and would just like to feel appreciated by the boss. That's asking alot I guess. Last time I checked people were entitled to state their opinions without having to work someplace. How many of you criticize the President. You haven't done that job have you? Is the answer to your complaints 'run for president or shut up'? No, because we all have the right to express our opinions, and last time I checked this was a forum invented for just that purpose. I have an idea. If you don't like hearing peoples concerns or criticisms, don't read them!

In light of the recent events in MPD, one can draw conclusions such as Susan, and me knowing the mouth o the south Kelly, "yea buddy you know who I am" and yes its the good ole boy system thats standard in Alabama, so get used to it and dont rely on the Millbrook PD to protect you, because yes they are underpaid and not one of them would take a chance with thier lives and cant say I would blame them, oh did I forget to mention the mayor has a serious conflict of interest in the town of MB. Wake up people and get rid of all the clowns and thier puppets.

If you are not in law enforcement, you will never understand. Every agency has their bad and good. If you do not support your local government and or police force then move out of their city. I personally don't live in Millbrook but have worked with their law enforcement agency and their are some that are just there to receive their paychecks and there are some will work without getting a paycheck. Someone has to do the job. Im stunned that noone goes forward with any or all of the allegations being brought forward. Good luck Chief, Asst Chief
