where did all the signs go?

seems to me that since the godsey signs got put up all over town, most of the murphy signs dissapeared. is it just me?

Karma, most all of the things you mentioned as wasted tax payer money was grant money and civic donations. Under Godsey the town was cleaned up and took on a much better appearance. Remember the "ugly" old city garage that was where the Farmers Market is now? He got out and personally supervised the clean up. I doubt you were helping any. You sound like a lazy whiner. That is definitely a different perspective entirely. When you first said it was paid for by tax dollars I assumed you were talking about Monterey City taxes. The federal taxes are going to be wasted no matter by who or when; the way I see it, at least SOME of it has been diverted to Monterey by those in office previously. So..in other words, that money wasn't here to begin with, but was acquired by the ambition of those in charge at the time or those who chose to take on the responsibility. If there are specific grants to help the "downtrodden", I would hope that WHOEVER gets elected will be able to find them. Does your candidate have any grants or federal resources in mind, to bring into the town?

Looks like there were civic groups involved, also. Not just tax dollars,(from the federal government, not the town). No matter who is mayor, you can't force the civic groups to be involved. That usually takes involvement with those groups...something an older politician usually has more of, since they aren't in the throes of raising their families anymore.

At least you agree this is wasted money. Whether it is city or federal taxes paying for it.

Jeff Murphy had absolutely nothing to do with tim murphy's shennanigans. If I remember right there was about 3500 that was never accounted for. I heard someone had to pay it back to avoid prosecution. Interesting that's about as much as new office furniture costs. And yes, It seemed to me that there were alot more murphy signs up a few days ago. Did anyone actually see godsey putting up signs? He probably did, but if not then I'm guessing they went up in the middle of the night. as far as money being wasted, seems like there are very few arrests being made for all of the police we have in this town. They are spending alot of time getting new toys, and sprucing up the new PD. Oh and can anyone give me a dollar total of the lawsuits brought against the town, namely one officer being responsible as well as the discrimination lawsuit currently being litigated? looks to me like have the force was responsible for that one. Is Godsey from monterey?

I think you read more into my post than I meant when I said that a certain amount of FEDERAL tax money is wasted and at least part of the wasted money was diverted into Monterey. That is a bit of a stretch to say the monies spent in Monterey were wasted. Have YOU found any outstanding available grants that are availabe, on a federal level, to help YOUR idea of proects to help Monterey? Do YOU or YOUR CANDIDATE have anything in mind? Please be specific.
