I am at my wits end. I am making a car payment on a car I have driven probably 6 months out of the last 2 years. 2003 Lincoln LS V-8 was randomly dying while driving; then got to a point where it would not start at all. I took to 2 dealers here in Indy who saw nothing wrong with it; 1 mechanic who suggested Stan's Auto Electric in Indy. Towed the car to Stans. Stans kept the car for a month before getting any reads from the computer. Finally sent the computer to be re-programmed, replaced tac sensor, and the battery. Took the car home and approximately 3 weeks later, having the same problems. Also have replaced the fuel pump and relays....all to the tune of about $2500.00 all in. Aside from torching the car, any suggestions?!??!?!

2001 Blazer 4x4 w/85,000 is “missing” while driving…$2000 later:
1) New head gasket
2) Complete distributor and cap
3) Fuel injection completely cleaned
4) Did not replace ignition cables or plugs (Damn # 3!)
5) Gets about the same MPG, which is crap, but not part of the problem.
Runs great…except, long story short,…while driving at freeway speeds there is “miss” that I can only explain as it feels like that little “lag” when the AC compressor engages. AC not on when it happens. Don’t notice it while Accel/Decel. At idle, in gear or not, it may occasionally produce a “miss” that I can feel and the tach will dip.
That’s my story
Thanks

I have a 2000 S-10 Blazer. The acceleration is very sluggish. Gear shifts are spotty; for example, while traveling at road speeds, when it attempts to shift to passing gear, the RPMs will increase accordingly, but the truck will begin to coast. I will actually loose speed! Could this be the torque converter or is this something else?

I just got a 03 chevy impala from an as is auto auction the car had some minor front end damage from a wreck. I wasn't able to test drive it so I didn't know of this issue. So it will not shift or doesn't seem to shift and the speedo doesn't work. If im at a complete stop I can speed up but in order to get up to drive speed I had to push the pedal down and it was reved the whole time I know my way around a car for the most part but need some suggestions on what this could be my first thought is the spped sensor because the replace the passenger side front fender so maybe its as simple as a plug or the whole senseor. so can you give me suggestions so im not just wasting money on parts thanks

I have a 2000 Ford Ranger 2.5 4L, 2 Wheel Drive. No Fuel going to Converter, it will not Start. I Dumped the Fuel Tank, and Cleaned it. Replaced the Fuel Pump, Sensor on Fuel Pump. Replaced all the Relays in Fuse Box under the Hood. Checked all the Fuses in the Inside Cabin Panel. Replaced the Inertia Sensor. Before changing any of this the Truck ran, but Fuel Gauge stayed at 3/4 Full with Key on, or Off. Now after replacing everything, checking the Fuel Lines, and Filter the Fuel Gauge works properly. Put in 5 Gallons of 93 Octane Gas. Now the Fuel Gauge reads a bit above a 1/4 Full, and empty when I turn the Key off. I replaced the Inertia Switch, the Truck still will not Start. If I Spray Starter Fluid in the Converter, the Motor Starts for a few seconds. What did I miss, or not do right? I'm on SSDI, can not Afford a Shop, and going to a Dealership is out of my Income range.

I have a 2004 F-150 4-door XLT Lariat w/ V-8. 164000 miles on it. If I jump in it and go, the motor starts shaking (more so if you try to accelerate) about 1 mile down the road. It does this for a mile or 2 and then it drives like normal. Any suggestions?

Remove the mechnical pump from the engine and buy a plate to cover the hole in the block. Then just hook up the electric pump and you are done. Things to watch are fuel pressure and wires. Install an on/off switch on the hot side of the pump to prevent a fire if in a wreck or in case of a blown fuel line because it will keep pumping gas onto the fire, unless you connect it to your panel in a way that shuts it off automatically with the key. That's the best way but most guys don't do that and it kills people.
Next, you don't want high fuel pressure to a carbed engine, 3-4 lbs. is enough to supply fuel, where most electric pumps are rated around 100 or so pounds because of fuel injection. You can buy a separate fuel pressure regulator for around $20 and set it on five lbs. if need be. It will prevent blown seals in the carb.

Hello. I have a 02 Chevy blazer. It shut off and does nothing when you turn the key. There is a humming noise that sounds like it is coming from under the glove box when the key is in the off position. Help.

Is it a 4x4? If so, the noise may be coming from the vacuum switch on the transfer case. You'll have to crawl under the vehicle to confirm it.if so, replace the switch, it's external. Other than that get, the codes pulled at a shop. Their computers are way more advanced than anything you can buy. I'm guessing it is fuel pressure related.
