Who are the so-called chosen people - the Japanese? The Zoroastrians? The Hindus? The Jews? The Christians? The Muslims? The Sikhs?- funnily, each religious group attempts to consider itself the "chosen people" by quoting its scripture or on account of egoism - an exercise in delusion and self-destruction.

Scholars believe that Noah was based on the mythical Mesopotamian figure Utnapishtim, who survived a Great Flood by building a boat and was promoted to Godhood for surviving. LOL.
rabbee: are these the same scholars, who think that obama is a good president? or the same scholars who claim, there is not proof that the pharaoh, had Moshe's name obliterated from every obelisk and tablet in egypt?

So aren't people able to he moral and ethical without a government?
rabbee: well that is dependent on how, immoral your government actually is. the more immoral they are, the least likely is your chance escaping from them.

Enough of that religious nonsense.
I want you to define SECULARISM and INTELLIGENCE so that we can debate these terms seriously and raise the pathetic moral and intellectual standards here.
Thanks.
rabbee: intelligence - the ability to possess data religiously aquired. without the stipulation of it being true or not.

secularism - the possession of true and false data, to your own vain liking or disliking religiously ignoring G-D.

CONCLUSION:
Government is not independent of human beings. Human mind conceptualizes laws, policies, regulations and infrastructure and implements these to form the government. Honest governance is also all about human personality traits. So, in the final analysis, government, laws, infrastructure and governance are all human constructs. No human beings, none of the above-mentioned entities or constructs can come into existence. Everything in life is a construct of mind-matter in operation.
rabbee: so that is what you accuse the subtle talking critters as - human???... when that is not, what G-D said they are.

Dearest, go back to my definition of intelligence as I am not inclined to keep repeating the same thing.
In terms of secularism, it is the separation of religion from all areas of life except where it belongs i.e. in churches, mosque, temples, synagogues etc.
rabbee: it is not separating yourself from any religion. it is a religion of men without G-D, and it's called atheism.

Correct. At a minimum, they are there to provide protection "from aggression, theft, breach of contract, and fraud" [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Minarchism]. That is indisputable to any sane person.
All of the rest of the services that Government offers is up for fair discussion. As a progressive, I happen to think there is more they can offer. Libertarians, naturally, feel differently.
rabbee: well at least until the government themselves becomes the aggressor, the thieves, and breach of constitution, and fraud. and they always do try, and possibly succeed sooner of later. please do tell me of any country, this has not happened to or is not in the process of happening to?

Complete opposite of what I said. I said moral people will be moral with or without religion and government, and immoral people will be immoral with or without religion and government, but Government is necessary to prevent the immoral from hurting others.
<quoted text>
Some people are comforted by it, but they certainly don't need it to be moral.
<quoted text>
Not every religion. Some actively preach violence against others, particularly non-believers. I would say its a fundamental human principle, and since religion is a human construct, it sometimes carries that principle forward. But again, religion is not required. You should also note that there are many concepts preached in the Bible that any sane person today would consider immoral.
rabbee: all idolatries, are religions. you cannot show men any government today, that is not involving religious idolatry of men. even the idolatry of our father in washington, give us this day our daily freebies, robbed from the hard worker to give to the lazy.

So the main purpose of government is to protect individuals from others, why should government have the monopoly on that?
rabbee: is this why the government shows up after the slaughter - like the school massacres, 9/11. because they have proven, how they can protect you so well.

and can send your son's and daughters over seas, to kill or be killed. because they only say, they are protecting you? when even i know that, i cannot even protect myself from me all that well. i and nobody else can even, protect themselves from G-D.

even being an immortal is no insurance, that G-D can't send a mortal to kick your butt.

Government is relationships. Laws implement policy. To the extent certain policies are influenced by ethics and morals of the originators, then government supports certain ethics and morals. But it is not a necessary pre-condition, hence the separation of church and state. You can get ethics and morals from Sesame Street just as easy as from your version of the bible.
rabbee: well if you want a government against G-D, i think you deserve the government of the devil. how did the evareem, that were given freedom of religion in egypt, end up enslaved in idolatry against it? when all the promises of previous government change, your screwed.
