Its likely a chick. Most people who do the initial thing do so to avoid gender stereotyping - in this case probably to help her publish.

Where do you stand on the issue of the fatwa?
What is Fatwa?

It is not a WMD which west wants everyone to believe.

Fatwa is a legal opinion about any issue, issued by an Islamic Scholar, as to how much is it in conformity with Islamic teachings.

It is a religious opinion and could be contested by other Islamic scholars giving their own logic.

Fatwas have no executive power behind them, unless some executive power puts them into operation.

This is the position of Fatwas, but in west it is treated as end of world, if some Islamic Scholar issues a Fatwa.

The same way they see end of world, when some one gives a call to Jihad.....while Jihad in reality is a struggle against corruption, mischief, tyranny and injustice in the world.

Media knowingly or unknowingly distorts these worlds, so many people do not know or understand its real meanings and limitations.

You are Muslim, correct?
The fatwa issued is against the taking of photos, correct?
Therefore, if your goal is to be a GOOD Muslim, then can I assume you do not own a camera?
Yes I am a Muslim.

Opinion is divided between Islamic Scholars on the issue of Photo taking.

To take a photo with the intention of worshipping and respecting and revering any person, or place or idol is totally banned.

To take photos of natural objects and natural scenes is permissible without any reservations.

To take photos for identification purpose, for ID s and passports is permissible.

To take photos of stranger women and girls is not allowed.

Islam is a very reasonable and logical religion, not some whims and fancies of some one.

And as told to Mr. Frijoles, it is not a WMD, it is only a religious opinion by some Islamic Scholars and it can be contested by other Islamic Scholars.

Cameras are not a taboo in Islam, they are harmless devices, it depends what you use them for.!!

Did Muhammad know anything about photography using camera devices? He must have surely known about painting/sculpture since these are ancient arts.

What difference does it make if one uses the word G-d or God when it's certain that such a typal being is neither omniscient nor omnipresent nor omnipotent but is simply just a typal being who like the others of its kind loves arrogating to itself the grand title G-d/God. ROFL.

Foolish generalizations:

1) Large testicles = poor parenting skills, high libido.

2) Small testicles = good parenting skills, poor sexual appetite.

PS: I happen to have medium-sized testicles. Hugh dear, any comments.(smiles)

Can a woman take a picture of another woman? Can a child take the picture of another child?

What is the difference between a painting and a picture?

What is the difference between a natural scene and a non-natural scene? Is a landscape dotted with factories natural? Is a picture of a man urinating unnatural?(for the sake of the question lets assume you cant see the nakedness)

Is it really the western media that distorts these views, or is the the fault of those who hijack your religion (and their supporters) that drive the media to such conclusions? Don't be so quick to put the blame on others.

I calibrate my measuring instrument in dear Hugh's Jamaica. LOL.

I used Vernier callipers to measure my clean-shaven, pinkish-white testicles.
