Kind of correct.

Geology and Earth Science and Paleoecology (and probably Genetics) have showed that the (details of) creation story is false.

Evolution doesnt really get directly into the details of the creation story, rather, it proposes another mechanism altogether, with evidence to support it.

Evolution is an example of a theory, not a scientific discipline. You are proposing a straw argument.

Former--A plan to have a plan is no plan at all.

HughBe--- eloquent

Former--Do you say "Mon" at the end of each sentence?
Just curious.

HughBe-- I understand the reason for the question because we have NEVER corresponded and so the question is appropriate. Well I don't use the word.

Former--Why some Jamaicans do and some don't?
Is it due to your high social status?

HughBe--- It is a function of culture or sub-culture

Former--I am certain you are very clean.

HughBE-- Correct and in HEART as well.

Former--You work the mention of your god in at every opportunity.

HughBe --- I love to speak about myself.

Former--Missed me?

HughBe--- Seriously YES. I tend to be sentimental and I now know you and understand you and like you too.

Former--I'm blushing.

HughBe--- you need to get some of my polish to tone it down.

HughBe--- It is never too late to express good things. Happy New Year to you too and truly the very best for 2013 including getting a shiny creature to convert you and to sit on your mouth.

Former--Female, of course.

Focus on the message and NOT the person. Ask yourself these questions. Are the things said TRUE? Are the things said FALSE? Then you decide whether or not you want to embrace that which is FALSE or TRUE.

Nope. Not all of us are here because they are on a religious crusade. In fact, you can usually figure out quickly who isnt, we tend to be the rational ones.

Furthermore, the reason people keep coming back is more related to a desire to see themselves time and time again in print, than to care what the others really say, IMO

Can you focus on THAT message?

Whatever you call it, there are two stories to how we got here.
1. GOD CREATED ALL THINGS, including evil, becouse without it -free will wouldn't be possible.
2. Millions of years rocks, animals, man.
Which noone has seen evolution. You can breed two animals, "pink one and a blue one " of THE SAME KIND, and get a variation of the animal. Plus humans do this "black man -white girl -you get a mixed human, but you can't breed a fish with a bird.
It does take faith, to believe in God, that's how He set it up.
Me, the old lead guitar player from korn, crissy moran (former pornstar), and many others have had an encounter with God, and "HE " changed our core beliefs.
Willful ignorance on your part. I can lead a horse to water, but...

As usual, you have created a caricature of what evolution actually says and pretend that you have shown it false. Sadly, all that you really do in such circumstances is demonstrate you ignorance of science.
The saddest part is that evolution and believe in a Deity are not mutually exclusive. The only thing that evolution proves is that a literal belief in the creation myths of Genesis are no longer realistic.
A straw man argument, for sure. And you are correct, the two are not mutually exclusive. I don't understand why the fundies like to paint themselves into a corner when there's no need to.

Only correct in that evolution doesn't touch on the topic of creation. Again, that is abiogenesis, a different branch of science.

A theory is basicly the highest accolade in the field of science.
It does not get any higher.
Molecular evolution of f.i. the oldest common ancestor/concestor would touch upon abiogenesis. As well as life from rocks, as in google octalite.(How did cell walls develop.)
But the saillant characteristic of the scientific method, would be that a theory stands only untill someone can refute the findings.
Or proof them to be correct. e.g. Einsteins theory could only be proven when we had developed the capacity to bring atomic clocks in orbit. But it stays work in progress because someone might always come up with a different better fitting idea.

Same goes by the way mankind and it's god-idea. That changed so much that someone from the 4th century would not even recognize what f.i. modern christians are on about.

the kind of correct was that there are other disciplines that do, either directly or indirectly.

the point being, that evolution is not a scientific discipline

I know you know this. This is for the benefit for the slower evoliving individuals on this forum.
