Supreme Court hints that it won't issue sweeping ruling on same-sex marriage

In a historic argument on a challenge to state laws that limit marriage to heterosexual couples, the Supreme Court indicated Tuesday that it might be hesitant to strike down such laws.
Following the oral argument, Pete Williams of NBC News reported that it seemed “quite obvious that the U.S. Supreme Court is not prepared to issue any kind of sweeping ruling” declaring that same-sex couples have a constitutional right to marry.
Williams said there seemed to be “very little eagerness” from any of the justices to “embrace that broad a ruling.”

I'll be darned, the SCOTUS is done play-acting, for the benefit of the White House, now. Now, we'll get real, again. Hahaha.

Fire the whole bunch of stupid fools.

The agency has been plagued with a rash of humiliating incidents at area airports — including the failure of Newark screeners in February to catch an undercover fed with a fake explosive stuffed in his pants at either of two checkpoints.

OMG, you really are stupid. Don't you know that we didn't fight that war to free the slaves? Ever wonder why it was called "The War Of Northern Aggression"? It was because the South was making so much $$ from the trade it had, with other countries, that the North ordered it to sell them raw, unfinished goods and products, at a drastic loss, and then buy back finished goods and products, at rapish profits, that the South said "no". It was then that the North moved on the South, with blockades of all ports that the South used for exportation. THAT was what the Civil War was all about. Lincoln owned slaves. Lincoln said that if he could save the union, without freeing one slave, he would do so. The abolishment of slavery was a strike at the workforce that the South used, to make its profits. You dumb-ass. Don't post when you don't know what you are talking about. Damn.... You're welcome for the history lesson.
unfortunatley i wont find a copy of such a fine interpretation in any place but the south.

<quoted text>Did Lincoln say repeatedly the war was not being fought over slavery? yes or no. Do you think after the Civil war blacks and whites were treated equal?
There is the issue with the 13th amendment, on January 11, 1864 the 13th amendment(which would effectively ban slavery) was proposed, in April, 1864 the bill was rejected(that's right REJECTED), so here is the problem, the Union(which apparently according to some people was fighting to end slavery) actually voted down the 1st anti-slavery amendment, and it wasn't until February 1, 1865 when they voted on it again(and this time it passed)
So if they were in fact fighting over slavery, why would they vote down the Amendment that personified their reason for fighting? it was because they weren't fighting over slavery.
Saying Slavery is the cause the civil war is an Oversimplification, basically people try to simplify the causes of the war down to 1 issue, which causes people to ignore all of the other issues, such as State authority over Federal authority(or in other words, States Rights)
While Slavery was an issue during the War, historically speaking, it was one of literally dozens(if not hundreds) of causes for the war. remember that at that time, everyone volunteered to go to war, which meant that all 3+Million people had their own individual reasons to fight, and yes some on both sides did fight for slavery, but some fought solely for States Rights as well
I've told him before that he lives in Never-Never-Land.
Did Lincoln say repeatedly the war was not being fought over slavery? yes or no. YES (X) or NO ().

What do you mean unlikely? Last time I checked there was something called the 14th amendment on the USA! Why the hell should I be denied equal marriage rights because I live in Pennsylvania? You know the Supreme Court ruled in 1967 that STATE bans on interracial marriage was unconstitutional. Marriage is a fundamental right!
No, it's not, it is decided by the particular state that you reside in. Read the Constitution sometime...

I hate to do this, but I am saying it plainly. You are full of shit, there. That war was about economics, not humanitarianism. Slavery was a common practice. Lincoln's letter to Greely was a lie, eh? You were there and know that he didn't write it, yes? Liar. I had a lot of respect for you, but you just lost some of it, not that it matters. And, the word is "seceded". Not "succeeded".

Yes even the economic part also was directly related to slavery.

I don’t know if you are implying that there was not an abolitionist movement and that Lincoln was not directly connected to that movement before taking office, if you don’t realize that you need to do some more reading in history

His involvement and election was directly involved in the first states succeeding as they know they would not be able to maintain an equal number of slave state with Lincoln as president

I'd sign any petition that comes from the people, asking for the government to look into grievances raised by it's citizens. but we both know that that will not happen.

As reported some time ago, all efforts by the insiders deep in Glendora, California - city hall have backfired.

They have promoted people from the inside and out side city hall even hired through false pretenses and even she is failing, the single reason she was hired, she failed at that too! So they promoted her, what a waste.

The long and tall of it is that Chris Jeffers and Jeff Kugel are running Glendora, lets not leave out the cronies like Douglas Tessitor, Terry Kent, Gene Murabito, Judy Nelson, Gary Clifford, Joseph Santoro, D. Wayne Leech and Karen Davis.

They are running businesses out of Glendora at record pace.

Not far from true.
Lincoln quotes you never saw in the history books:
""I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in anyway the social and political equality of the white and black races - that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race. I say upon this occasion I do not perceive that because the white man is to have the superior position the negro should be denied everything."
"My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union; and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not believe it would help to save the Union. I shall do less whenever I shall believe what I am doing hurts the cause, and I shall do more whenever I shall believe doing more will help the cause."
"Do the people of the south really entertain fears that a Republican administration would, directly or indirectly, interfere with their slaves, or with them, about their slaves? If they do, I wish to assure you, as once a friend, and still, I hope, not an enemy, there is no cause for such fears."- Letter to Alexander Stephens
Other little Lincoln tid-bits you didn't hear about in school:
- July 1861- General Freeman declares martial law in Missouri, declares all slaves held by owners whom oppose the Union are free. Lincoln cancels the order. As a result Congress passes the Confiscation Act.
-May 1862, General David Hunter issued an order declaring all slaves in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina to be free. Lincoln again revokes the order. Congress again responds by passing the SECOND Confiscation Act.
They also won't tell you that Lincoln felt that the freed slaves should be COLONIZED elsewhere. Yup, he was looking to send the black out of the US. Congress even passed a bill to spend $100,000 to :
"to be expended under the direction of the President of the United States, to aid in the colonization and settlement of such free persons of African descent now residing in said District, including those to be liberated by this act, as may desire to emigrate to the Republic of Haiti or Liberia, or such other country beyond the limits of the United States as the President may determine."
Yeah, Lincoln the "great emancipator".
Excellent work, sir, I am humbled. I only gave a generalized account of the War, You provided hard facts. Salute.

Obama's second term was the change to defeat a democrat, but Romney had to dance to the right to get the nomination and so lost the general.

A lot can change between now and then, but the snapshot now… Hillary would win in a walk
