Prove that the primary purpose of marriage is, and has always been, to restrain people's mating behaviors.

Prove that it is and always has been successful in doing that.

Then prove that gay folks marrying will cause straight people to mate with even less restraint.

Are you serious? I simply pointed out the Constitution does not treat all citizens "equal" in all matters, the constitution has to interpreted. How the heck in the name of Francis Albert Sinatra, did u think I was "comparing the the rules regarding qualifying for POTUS to the rights of Gay Americans"?
<quoted text>
it amuses me how some rainbow flag wavers toss around the word "bigot" simply because one opposes the legal redefinition of marriage, that it is, pun intended", inconceivable. Heaven forbid, you realize you already do, as do I, possess the right to marry. You simply do not wish to exercise such a right in the same manner as everybody else.
<quoted text>
That's when you all start whining like little children. What will YOU chooches come up with next? Just admit it, you are weirded out by the fact that you were created by a sex act, coital intercourse, between a man and a woman, and that clouds YOUR judgement. In other words, the only one who is a bigot here is you!
To bad you're on the losing side of history! And thank god we have a Constitution to protect us from "Bigots" like you! Marriage equality is coming and there is nothing you can do about it,so better get out of the way or be crushed by the Constitutional weight of it all come this June! And the truth of the matter is you can't give any valid reasons as to how a same sex marriage will affect yours at all or how it would harm your marriage! Valid reasons not B.S.! I'm married 35 years and I fail to see how marriage equality will affect or cause harm to my marriage in any way shape or form! Religion does NOT enter into the equation at all,SECULAR country!

Gay couples are not an equal relationship, just like all other relationships, every single one of which is ideally birthed solely by marriage.
Just admit it, you have no logical answer, so you spew out ad homoan attacks.
Smile.
Evolutionary speaking homosexuality has been identified as naturel in 37 documented mammal species, it is a natural occurrence. I didn’t realize you were such a big fan of Evolution.

Your desire to make them not equal by law is a very anti-American stance, you should look for other nations that enforce cultural, traditional and religion.

The Taliban is like that, you should contact them, and maybe they are accepting converts

The fact that nature partakes in homosexuality is irrevelent to humans partaking in homosexuality. They do not have the same ability to reason as humans do. Many species eat their young. Does that mean it's natural to eat our kids?

Equal doesn't mean differences can't be taken into consideration, or distinctions not made. Uninals aren't installed in the women's locker room, blind people aren't allowed to drive, men can't be mothers nor women fathers, and most states legally define marriage as a union of husband and wife.

Animals generally kill members of their own species, even family that try to eat their kids... so do we. I support the death penalty

But the point I am making is that homosexuality is not in any why singular to humans or opposed to "natural" as it is a part of the natural world.

No I think we have done well as our species gained the intelligence to form into groups, create cultural ties, and even ( rolls eyes ) government. Although our species has certainly not found the "perfect government" it is an effort, and a constantly striving and evolving process.

Our founders for example, a rather large number of them wanted a classed society, where only the wealthy could vote, they were shouted down and instead started a more equality based society.

We have evolved far from there, and are continuing to evolve.

always toward Freedom, Justice and Equality, that is why I am an American. It is impossible to take my patriotism away from me, but it is a principal I am a patriot to, not a flag, not a set of boundaries, not name of a country.

We have done well, not perfect, but well, other nations have as well and I applaud them. In the long run, always bet on what is right, I do, and am usually not disappointed. I am willing to make a wager now that I will not be disappointed when the Supreme Court makes its ruling.

Recognizing of same sex marriage is right, it is justice, it is equality, and fits with my patriotism to the ideal that America strives for ( and never quite achieves, as all good goals are )

I do notice that baby changing stations do exist in men’s bathrooms now :)

It is fine to notice a difference, but justice wears a blindfold, blind to Race, creed, color, sex, religion, orientation, or national origin.

A goal we have not actually achieved, but always strive for.

You and Isaac are entitled to all the opinions you want, that book ( which I have read ) of course is not about that subject, which is why that was only presented as an opinion.

It wasn’t about that subject because opinion is all one can have, there is zero evidence supporting the existence of any of the billions of gods man has believed in.

You are free to have that opinion however, as long as you don’t try and enforce the rules laid down by your imaginary palmate on anyone else.

You know I can post statements by many physicists before and after Newton who had a totally different opinion.

So I guess you are not happy with a lot of other species that have not set up groups and cultures? Are you upset at some of the monkeys that didn't evolve? What species do you model yourself after?

“Scientists are slowly waking up to an inconvenient truth - the universe looks suspiciously like a fix. The issue concerns the very laws of nature themselves. For 40 years, physicists and cosmologists have been quietly collecting examples of all too convenient "coincidences" and special features in the underlying laws of the universe that seem to be necessary in order for life, and hence conscious beings, to exist. Change any one of them and the consequences would be lethal. Fred Hoyle, the distinguished cosmologist, once said it was as if "a super-intellect has monkeyed with physics".

To see the problem, imagine playing God with the cosmos. Before you is a designer machine that lets you tinker with the basics of physics. Twiddle this knob and you make all electrons a bit lighter, twiddle that one and you make gravity a bit stronger, and so on. It happens that you need to set thirtysomething knobs to fully describe the world about us. The crucial point is that some of those metaphorical knobs must be tuned very precisely, or the universe would be sterile.

Example: neutrons are just a tad heavier than protons. If it were the other way around, atoms couldn't exist, because all the protons in the universe would have decayed into neutrons shortly after the big bang. No protons, then no atomic nucleuses and no atoms. No atoms, no chemistry, no life. Like Baby Bear's porridge in the story of Goldilocks, the universe seems to be just right for life.”

I used to not... I have actually flipped on that issue a couple of times. So I respect your opinion, it isn’t mine, but I can certainly understand someone with the position you support.

I had to ask myself if I could kill someone before I entered the military, because if I could not, my superiors should certainly know that, I decided that I could.

Later after having a family, it stuck me that there are people out there that we as a society are better off without.

Although I support the death penalty, I am certainly opposed to states that have used it too easily and often, and I am not all that upset that it is not currently used in my state.

Yours is an opinion that I can respect on that subject

Not at all, you are assuming a whole lot here

Other species have indeed set up groups according to their abilities, some quite complex.

Monkeys did evolve, have evolved, likely still evolving, you need to go back to school before talking about this.

We are not the pinnacle of evolution, simply where our branch has led us.

Sharks have not evolved for tens of millions of years, if you want to talk about a species that has not evolved recently you should mention them. They have had no pressure to do so, a near perfect machine for the niche they fill.

Wrong

more and more scientists are actually going the other way, you would know this if you looked at actual factual websites instead of the websites that fill you with garbage that you want to believe.

again you do not have enough information to be able to discuss this, and you are taking away from the actual topic of this forum.

We are done
