Pacific Grove is a nice town and no place for bath houses. If people want to participate in this sort of depraved activity they can go to San Francisco.

I can't believe that some people feel they should make comments on subjects that they clearly don't know anything about. Maybe, you should find out the facts before you make stupid comments. Start paying attention!!!

How sad that there is no place in PG to eat with an ocean view except for Carl's Jr.

Carl's Jr. is in New Monterey. Try Woody's in the American Tin Cannery.

If only P.G.'s city officials could do one thing effectively! They can't address the: 1) pension funding problem, 2) public library funding, 3) competent operation of the golf course restaurant, and 4) out-of-compliance sanitary sewer system, among other things.

Now, finding someone to re-use the Old Bath House building at Lover's Point hits another roadblock. Owners of the Passionfish restaurant were slated to move into a renovated building, but likely backed out not just because of the poor economy, but largely due to the pervasive anti-business climate and endless government delays so prevalent in P.G. public-decision making.

The building renovator is likely to be in receivership before P.G. and all the other regulatory bodies weigh in. Even if a restaurant opens before another five years pass, the prices will have to be very high to cover the costs of the needless delays and obstacles placed before legitimate business operators. It won't be the sort of place the average local or tourist can frequent and afford.

In the meantime, the building continues to deteriorate and will take an even greater investment to satisfactorily renovate, but who in city government appears concerned with that insignificant (to them) fact?

I'll say this about Avalon Spa, it was a wonderful, quiet, calm, enjoyable place of business, paying its taxes and offering a valuable service. The day it closed down I could hear the holy rollers from a century ago saying "AMEN BROTHER WE HAVE SAVED THE SINNERS." And I could hear the spa customers say, "WTF????"

The Old Bath House was a long time favorite for me and my wife. Perfect view of coast at night, lighting, food, service. LOVED IT. When is it going to reopen. No, really when?

Just a PS. Isn't the political BS of the area typical of current government intervention of every aspect of our lives? Job crunching, taxing everything in sight, economy destroying. Is this the new "norm"?
