Outstandingdevelopment!!!!!
Good for her!!!!!
GAY TEEN SHUT OUT FROM HIGH SCHOOL’S PROM TO LEAD NYC PRIDE PARADE
“Constance McMillen said she considered backing down when school officials canceled prom after she asked if she could bring her girlfriend. But then the 18-year-old thought about the point she was trying to make.
"It's wrong for schools to do that, it's wrong to discriminate," McMillen told The Associated Press.
McMillen's stand made her feel like an outcast in her Mississippi hometown, but the 18-year-old hasn't looked back. She has traveled the country making high-profile media appearances and visited the White House as an invited guest. On Sunday, she will be one of three grand marshals for New York City's annual Pride March.
"I never would have had these opportunities if I hadn't done what I did," she said.

It is beautiful what you can get if you are selfish and inconsiderate.

I suppose it isn't right to single her out, but she is the topic of this thread. There are a lot of 18 year old kids in the same position. I put it down to a complete lack of discipline and parental supervision.

A lot of kids that are in for a rude awakening when they find out the world is more than their personal ice cream cone.

Here's a true story for you. The punks around my neck of the woods seem to think that adults should get out of their way. They'll come walking down the sidewalk two or three abreast, tra la la, and anticipate me stepping aside so they can continue on like that. I'm a solid 230 pound guy. I don't step aside.

The look on the faces as they pick themselves up off of the ground is priceless. And guess what - they don't try it again.

Reminds me of three little punks that stepped in front of my moving car in a parking lot just daring me to hit them. So I did. LOL!

i am not sure if you are saying that this lesbian teenager showed a complete lack of discipline and parental supervision, or that her harassers at school did.

you seem to be saying that there are a lot of young punks out there, that they naturally bash (perceived) LGBT people.

you're lucky that you are a solid 230 pound guy. you are not an easy target. but most (perceived) LGBT people are not big, solid 230 pound guys (who could be football players). they have average builds, thus they are easy targets for LGBT harassment, threats, intimidation, and violence.

do you hire out as a bodyguard? there are some (perceived) LGBT people being harassed who would like to hire you.

If this were a boy, who was gay, he would have had legitimate right to sue. But not her.

In biomechanics, she's never gonna be a "guest" - but he might learn to be a good "host."

These proms are about gender roles where under social event, she can learn to be a good guest and he can learn to be a good host.

But as long as she's going in as guest, refuting all the males as insufficient, that defeats the purpose of a prom.

The ACLU proves that the school district, the courts, that whole area is a dumb hick society that barely knows what they're doing - based purely on their posturing.

Yes, the school is correct in it's position to exclude her but the idiots don't know why.

I thought this thread was dead and buried.

What I believe I was saying, without going back and reading the entire thread, is that when you are in school you respect those that are in authority. When you are a kid on the street (or anywhere else) you respect adults. The reason that kids think they are special is because they don't get the proper discipline from their parents anymore. Somewhere along the way, parents have completely lost the plot.

If you are a kid and you want something and you don't get your way, that's life. You don't deal with it by filing a lawsuit and causing an uproar that causes a commotion throughout the entire community. The inevitable result of doing that is the entire community is going to hate you, which is what happened.

There's a time and a place for everything and you have to pick your battles wisely. This one was ill advised. She was used, plain and simple, by the homosexual movement.

Our Schools took out God and look what we have now for our children and grandchildren. Woman with woman men with men disgusting...turns my stomach. Feel sorry for our children. This is the last thing they need to learn. Get real people.

I feel sorry for children in the influence of ignorant bigots like this.
God was NEVER "taken out" of our schools, the change was schools stopped promoting one religion, which was clearly unconstitutional. If you think kids magically turn gay because they aren't forced to recite Christian prayers, you're absolutely clueless.
Unless gay people are having sex in your driveway, it being "disgusting" is your own problem, obsessing on things that really are none of your business. To deny equality to someone because you don't like imagining their private life is insane.

Why don't the students just let them go to the dance and then beat them up for sport. That's what we did when I went to shcool and it was great fun.
