I believe that Heritage Harbor is actually owned by the Packard Foundation, and not the Aquarium. Now, is there really much of a difference between the Packard Foundation and the Aquarium? You tell me....

One more French-themed bistro in Carmel? Yeah, good luck with that.

I believe that the Packard Family(Julie Packard) owns the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The Packard Foundation(A charitable organization) is also basically controlled by the Packard Family as well where they sit on the Board Of Directors. For example, The Packard Foundation gave a very large sum of money to fund the renovation of the California Theater in San Jose, to promote the arts in San Jose(Opera, etc).

Fresh Cream is one of the most consistently superior restaurants on the peninsula. And with so many great restaurants that is really saying something. They have top notch service as well as food that is beyond superior. I look forward to seeing them in their new location. Too bad they can't open sooner!

Well whoever the owner is, whatever. I agree with Mr. Toy "a prom date restaurant" Fresh Cream with no view and now compeating with esyablished big guns, good luck. The prices will have to be cut by 75% to stay alive. With that sort of return you can bet, the owner will be putting in some serious hours. So much for tee time. If all that stuff is true, it will be interesting to see if this guy can do it without the help.

Many slandereous and downright lies posted here. Not sure how this website is allowed to post actual lies. Obviously only a jealous coward would post anonymously. Fresh Cream is opening in Carmel on Wednesday, February 8,2010. Check your facts or come by the restaurant for the truth..........about Steve or his wife~

Just to clarify--Heritage Harbor is owned by the Monterey Bay Aquarium, not the Packard Foundation. As far as a difference between the two, it's huge. The aquarium is a separate, self-supporting 501c3 with a mission to inspire ocean c onservation that receives no ongoing support from the Packard Foundation. Our executive director Julie Packard does sit on the foundation board. Part of the purpose of the Heritage Harbor purchase has been to provide a locus for non-profits with ocean conservation as their mission.
I'm the VP communications at the aquarium. Fresh Cream has been a marvelous restaurant in Heritage Harbor over the years and we wish them all the best in Carmel.

Fresh Cream is a great addition to the dining mecca in Carmel. After 32 years of excellence it looks as though they are hanging in there with the "big guns". They have become our favorite.

Fresh Cream has moved from its old location near Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey to the lovely new location at the Adobe Inn in Carmel at the NW corner of Dolores and Eighth. Carmel, CA is a unique town that does not have street addresses, so you will find Fresh Cream two blocks south from Ocean Avenue, the main street of Carmel. A video on YouTube has been posted showing its new location.
