Well Stella F. McKenzie, it's nice that you find your government provided health care so good. I'm all in favor of you keeping it. However, most of the rest of us are not eligible for Medicare (pronounced "Socialized Medicine") and have to deal solely with the insurance industry. We pay an exorbitant price to have some insurance company bureaucrat decide if they want to pay for treatments our doctor advises us to undergo.

You are happy with your government plan but want to deny that good care to the rest of us. Thanks for caring so much - about yourself.

W.D. Kelley -

Interesting that you whine about the "liberal name-calling" and then proceed to use petty, childish name calling in an attempt to make your point.

You succeeded in making the letter writer's point about "conservatives" being empty-headed and willing to swallow whatever their talking heads tell them to swallow.

The left and the right can take shots at each other all they want, but it's gonna be the middle roaders who will decide things in the next 2 national elections and there are alot of us who have gotten a taste of being left handed and find it a bit bitter to the taste buds.

With all due respect to Stella F. McKenzie-are you for real?? Simply because YOU and YOUR HUSBAND are covered by Medicare does not mean that the vast majority of the population has adequate and/or affordable health coverage. While I'm delighted to learn that YOUR family is protected, what about those of us who are paying huge $$$ for medical insurance or those who are uninsured??

Perhaps you'd be wise to think about someone other than yourself, Ms. McKenzie.

You're right on that. We have no insurance, and can't get it because of pre-existing conditions. Can't even afford insurance if I could get it, because I had to leave my job due to aforementioned pre-existing condition. Result: I'm out of work, in constant pain, with no way to get it fixed so I can get back to work.

The fact that our current health care system is completely dysfunctional is obvious. Even Mr. Toy and I agree on that - and we don't agree on much! Too bad Congress doesn't have the nerve to stand up to the insurance and pharmaceutical industries and create the kind of inclusive, cost containing system that the rest of the industrialized, and even some of the developing, world enjoys. Looks like we're doomed to continue paying more and getting less than just about anyone else.

"Anti-abortion folks need to respect others"

Probably right after the pro-abortion folks respect the people who disagree with them.
