I remember going to see the Strawberry Alarm Clock there in the late sixties. On Sundays, we used to go there in the afternoon to see rehearsals and auditions for upcoming nights. There used to be a local band called The Knights Of Day that played there alot. They were pretty hot. I believe some of the members went to Wilson High school. I also remember Mr. Robertson with his farmer style coveralls greeting people at the door. He seemed to be a cool guy considering all the hippie types that invaded his establishment every weekend.

Sixties kids got spoiled. There was such a rolling parade of extremely talented and creative musicians. It was easy to start taking it for granted.

We had the beatles, dylan, the stones, the doors, crosby, stills and nash, hendrix, etc, all of them game-changers.
Now it's a relative wasteland. I thought I saw a little Janis Joplin like spark in Amy Winehouse, but she crashed and burned.

We truly are in a teenage wasteland. No direction. Just a cacophony of aimless hackiness, and one-hit wonders.

Sad to watch.

I remember marina palace quite well. I was in a band called dirty works. We never got to play there ,but me and my bandmates went all the time and saw local bands like hot sauce and satyr. I remember the revolving stage, this was about 1972 or 1973 very cool times.

Stoner losers all of you. Mr. Pat Kearns had your back and you did his wife Joanne when he wasn't looking. Thanks from Clem!
