Are land prices going up???

It would be interesting to know if land prices are going up we own 20 acres outside of montello 3to4 miles just off from the gravel county road and was thinking on buying another parcel.However we would rather use the parcel than sell it at this point.

Just a curious question, what kind of problems does montello have as far as the crime situation goes in this small but quaint little town. Please let me know.

My name is Geoffry Wells Goldsborough, you can see my blog at www.montelloalpacacompany.blogspot.com . In regards to the price of land going, and the crime here in Montelo here are my answers. Yes land is going up. That is pretty much a general rule universaly. A lot of what is driving prices up here though is internet sales. People will buy land mark it up and sell it. Then this will happen a few times for the same parcel and before long $460 an acre is more than $500. I am not to keen on this myself, because I am looking at developing a community here, and I am not looking at the land for merely an investment.
About crime, Yes and No. There are illegal things going on here, such as drug activity, an occasional bar fight, and some petty theft(associated with drug activity) however I have been here six months and none of this has directly affected me. Another side note on crime, currently there is an effort underway to have a full time law enforcement officer out here. The county is looking at the budget to see how they can swing it. It may not happen right away but eventually what little illegal activity that goes on will be cleaned up. Having provided the darker and honest side of things, there are so many good people out here, it is still a quaint little town. I dont regret moving out here and plan on staying here the rest of my life.
