The links in Hhhmmmmm's post need to be read by all.
Overtime abuse and workers comp abuse are two of the BIG reasons the city is in the financial mess it's in.
A million dollars a year for decades in illegal excessive, unauthorized by your city council, or budget, overtime.
Overtime was parceled out to "favorites" and withheld form dissenters.
Christina wants to audit something, audit the "capital improvement fund" one of the slush funds used to hide the fraud.

The Mayor hasn't brought bad press to montebello! And her husband is innocent until proven guilty! All the Mayor has done is try to end the corruption in montebello. Do you think it is right that the city's money pays for politicians' family vacations?? The mayor is just trying to do right by montebello. She's been threatened and harassed for trying to end the corruption. This could all be set up to tarnish her name.

I want change for Montebello. I am voting for Flavio Gallarzo and Daniel Hernandez. One is a school principal and the other one is an engineer. They are the most qualified. I guess the good old boys are scared that we might elect some educated people.

I voted absentee as soon as I got my ballot, a week before this story broke. I only voted for one candidate for Council and School Board each. I did not vote for either Molinari or any of the three Cortez endorsees. What bothers me most about this incident is the timing. This occurs right before an election and a couple of days later a hit piece mailer comes out telling us we shouldn't for for any of three people endorsed by Cortez. This all looks like it was cooked up by someone. Where is the evidence that those three people had any involvement in drug dealing? And as for damaging the reputation of the city, Guerrero is not an elected public official. We've already had a convicted felon on the city council, who ran on the same platform and was endorsed for office by one of the current candidates. Montebello politics has been sliding downhill since 1982, and my outrage went away long time ago.

How "PROGRESSIVE" It is to vote liberal/progressive and expect anything good, maybe you "hope" that they will "change" the way they operate and for once do the right thing, but just like the mind set of the insane you do the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome so I say to you my fellow Californians we are doomed as long as you view politics like sports, and stick to your team(democrats) no matter what, they place you in a box and give you a freebie and you pull the vote lever for them and you don't see the box next to you has voted like wise and has just punched you in the head? e.g you want amnesty and vote for that reason the box next to you wants Christmas and GOD out, problem is you believe in GOD? so you thinking you did good for your people and at the same time you just smacked GOD, you go to church and pray daily and you vote for abortion so are you democrat or Christian? a lot to figure out but you have to think figure it out our lives, freedoms and liberties depend on it, I see it like this democrats are the rabbit the republicans are the turtle the finish line is socialism, difference is one gets us their faster than the other...wake up and wake up now socialism/communism/progressiv ism and anything leftism always ends up bad? PS: far right is not any better it is a balance and what is good for you is not for some else careful and proceed with caution you don't have the right to step on people cause you don't like what they do...have a good day GOD bless and please, please do what is right and not what feels good

Or someone quickly took advantage of the news
But Why?
And who DO they want you to vote for?
and Why?
Which candidate endorsed the felon?
Did they also endorse Rosie, Kathy, other Athens backed candidates?

Bringing in new businesses and trying to make Montebello a new progressive city while all the other council members want to keep Montebello in the 1980's still... What new businesses is Cortez responsible for bringing to Montebello?
How has Cortez attempted to make Montebello progressive?
Can you name one thing Cortez has done outside of her bicycling around the city?
So you are in agreement with Ruben selling meth in your community and don't have an issue with your children being coached by a drug dealer?

"Better Leadership for Montebello"
If you are affiliated, even indirectly with a candidate or a campaign you need to make the required disclosures and file the required reports.
That said
Interesting site
Love the videos of Montebello Forward attacking the Mayor.
But why would Cook-Hill and their mouthpiece want to antagonize a vote for their project?
In one video she rants about a potential charge from the state involving the RDA which has not happened yet while ignoring the well over a Hundred Million dollars the previous administration left us in the hole.
She ignores the Million Dollar a year burden of the Ostrom Chevrolet Deal.

Our Mayor has gone over and beyond to help Veterans and community members, when the board refused to assist in certain program events, she was there to show her support. Everyone has been writing comments since this incident occurred, now ask yourself" what have you done for your community without expecting to gain anything in return?“When have you given something of your own to someone in need? When have you assistant with one of the city council members to make a change in this community? Everyone is posting that the Mayor is giving the city a bad reputation but what does it say about you posting all the negative remarks about our mayor?
Instead of showing outsiders that we are a weak community, why not show how strong this community is, show them no matter what hits our city we will stand by our leaders through the rough times and good. I am embarrassed of my community members posting such negative remarks… you just made us all look bad.

Lets piece things together here.

Guerrero has long history of run-ins with police including DUI and violence against others at Grant Rea Park, etc.
Cortez husband's car is mysteriously set ablaze behind home.
Husband clearly harasses councilman Gomez. While restraining order is denied, it is apparent Guerrero is a dangerous man.
Cortez is tied to unseedy business characters Ku and Sevacherian.
Ku has donated to Cortez-backed candidates.
Guerrero arrested for dealing and selling methamphetamines out of home just one block from school.
Cortez works from home.
Cortez is recently seen in town with an expensive new car.

All facts.

It's time to recall Mrs. Cortez as Mayor. It's unfortunate the charges raised against her Husband yet again bring shame and embarrassment to the Mayor's office in Montebello. I doubt Mrs. Cortez will voluntarily resign but rest assured she will not be re-elected when her term expires, assuming she is brave enough to run again.

Sincerely,
