They will be practicing at several MS's and Elementary schools in Whittier and maybe La Habra.
No home playing fields after Oct just yet.
Thanks, bt that really doesn't answer my question for Fall 2013 :(. I would hate for my boy to bond with a team and come Oct. 2013, I'd have to pull him. For example, if his practices were moved further,it wouldn't workout. We have daughters who also have activities to attend.

I wish LMSA had better signature coaches. Why can't they pay trainers? They pay referees too much money.
They are as good as any other program and given the fact that at least 2-3 players per team are leaving to club after every season should say something. Not to mention many teams had good regular season and Playoffs. 4 girls teams won the championship! Please tell me how many other programs won 4 championships?
And teams can pay trainers. Some do, some don't.

They're having major issues securing a home field, doesn't look very promising, wonder what will happen for fall 2013 games?

as a manager of one of the boy teams I have been informed that the same facility is going to be used until October and then they already have an agreement in place for La Habra High School.

I would recommend you to talk to the manager since they are more aware of that than the coaches.

they pay the refs fine since they are taking time to ref the games. you can do what AYSO does -- dont pay the refs and have the parents HAVE to ref and if the team will be penalized if they dont get enough volunteer points.

Coaches volunteer as well. They don't get paid.

I'm well aware of that. Parents complain of the ref's lack of skills, imagine if parents had to ref games. It would really be bad! Half the parents do not know the laws of the game.

Anyone see the location next to the Sant Fe Swap meet recently? They completely leveled the buildings right there. Perfect spot for a sports park! Too bad it's SFS!!!

If the LMSA installed club this season in time for either next Fall or Spring with us losing our facilities LMSA would become huge! More players in bigger better league. With better coaching coming to LMSA. Its like LM AYSO when they were shut out of fields LMSA popped up and grew into a good league. Now with strikers losing their field LMSA could become a great league. But only if the BOD and President realize it. Makes no sense for teams to play state cup and host other games in the spring but not allow it in the fall. Good luck LMSA the opportunity is now.

Doubt that will happen,if your losing your fields soon you might start looking for a new club for your child, or stay and end up commuting further away for practice/games??

As a rec coach I would not mind seeing club in lmsa. But I agree I doubt the board will do anything about it.

Practice space is very tight at LMSA. Where are you going to put the teams. Too many teams not enough space. Games were played from 8am-5pm on Saturdays. This only helps if you live in LM. City restricts out of towners. Sorry but you are better off playing where there are no residency requirements.

Try Xplosion or Juventus. It will be the same but you will be able to recruit from all cities. Or be like Brea and have everyone live in one house to make residency. There is always ways around it.

Strikers would be the last place i would take my child.loosing the fields is one thing but the fact that that club has changed names/owners from WSC, AUSC, OCR and now strikers so quickly tells me something is not right. Mismanagement perhaps. I know a lot of families that are unhappy there and many are leaving. You should shop around more.

Don't listen to the trash talk, whittier strikers is tied into an elite club, odp program, with a league that plays most of the top teams in so cal. Watch the state cup results, only 3 clubs in coast soccer can compete with half the clubs in scdsl. Look at the regional odp teams and see what clubs send the most players to the national teams and make that decision for yourself. If you truly believe your child can compete in club, look for one that can take them the furthest. They will have the best possible training.
Make up your own decision by reviewing the stats at cal south odp. Fullerton, la Verne, strikers, legends, arsenal, so cal blues, slammers.. just to name a few are the top programs in our area of so cal.
