Arctic permafrost is melting faster than predicted

Nov 29, 2012 Full story: New Scientist 147

We may be closer to a major climate tipping point than we knew. Earth's permafrost - frozen soil that covers nearly a quarter of the northern hemisphere and traps vast amounts of carbon - may be melting faster than thought and releasing more potent greenhouse gasses.

The Titanic collision was in 1912. I said the ice in the Arctic is now at 50% what it was 50 years ago.

Actually Tina has a job, family, and life which means that Tina is not spending all her time here.

As for Wallop10, his reponse proved my point. That the records on the ice go back far further than his fifty years.

Then again I have seen time and time again how short sighted people like you are.

Well, duh, of course there are records that go back 50 years.
Global weather stations go back to 1880
And the proxies go back 400,000 years.

There has never been warming at this rate ever seen in the geological record, and NOT explained by the sun.

Fifty, there is records going back a couple of centuries. Whaling ships for example would record such because that is where the whales were found. So they would want to know and they would record ice sightings along with location and date.

As for the warming, the world has been warmer and not only survived but life thrived.

Great, there is no record of there being LESS ice by whalers prior to 1950.

They think the world might have been warmer in certain areas. You didn't have 7 billion people living on the planet and thriving civilizations depending on agriculture. The estimated population of the planet during the Holocene was around a million humans.

Guess you can fantasize you'd be one of those that survive, so who cares about the rest, did I get that right wing mindset right????

You're a "loving" person too, I bet you're going to hypocritically tell me... and it was just "their time" for those people to go ....

You should not expect anything given your direction and background...
What is the "WE", am i to assume you speak for everyone ?
You might start by speaking only for your self ?
The fact you seemingly grasp nothing does not necessarily apply to others.
I'm not sure, at this point, everyone is onboard having you as a group spokesman. I suppose that procedure allows you to filter into the background..obscuring any responsibility regarding knowledge of much of anything....
PHD

Well you can assume anything you want. That would only make another ASSumption of your---self. No one here asked you to be a group spokesman. Are you trying to feel important? Ahh knowledge you do show a tremendous amount of knowledge with your cut and paste answers
