If ever there was a strong message sent to an elected official it was at today’s 911 event. No representatives other that Edgar from Assemblywoman Garcia’s office attended. When Jack made announcement for Senator Delgado’s Rep. No one showed up, no one from Solis’ Office either or Congresswoman Sanchez either.
The residents attending all commented how much Pastor Sylvia and Ray Rodriguez were missed. They both started this event since back 17 years ago, Pastor Sylvia held a candle vigil that night and united residents of Montebello as all Americans united in grief.
Hopefully next year they can be brought back to unite our community again.

I remember every year it was held was very attended by community, I saw on FB different people’s pictures showed a lot of empty seats. Was there another event held somewhere else, maybe that’s where people went?
Agree they need to bring back Pastor Sylvia and Ray Rodriguez from KIA, they always had great speakers and packed the audience, no empty seats when they held the 911 Memorial.
good event

Low audience attendance up front, more people standing around the back of the park . I think it was the kids that marched. More people marched this year as well.

I think the city should have it at 5:30 or later, but the time isn’t too convenient.

Either way, it was a short concise event and drove the point home. Our chiefs did Great.

There were times in the past where the pastor went off the handles. I remember this one “they want me to read poem, I don’t read poems”

To be honest, she turned a lot of people off with some not so PC comments.

Thanks Montebello
You suck again jack

Does any one remember when good ole Jack wanted to change it to 9/10 event? That’s why Pastor Sylvia “went off” because it didn’t happen on that day. Jack wanted to be with his pals in LA but not miss Montebello. No attendence just shows no one likes him. That simple or he should’ve reach out to his groups of pals to attend. No support for a 9/11 event = No support for Jack or his followers.

As a resident sitting in the seats to side, sorry I counted only 16 residents near us, most were family members of kids participating. There were more Cops & Firemen than residents. The other side of park only one man sitting there taking pictures. So not sure if this person attended another event, it was very disappointing. Did not feel heartfelt like prior years, maybe because I don’t care for Mr Hadjinian’s politics regarding our city. He did not impress me as a speaker or leader for our community.

He did a pretty good job. One picture I saw , at least 150 people TOTAL there including PD and Firemen . There were Definitely more in prior years.

Well organized event as always - I think the time is rough for people .

He will be the mayor next year, so I really hope more people come out and remember what the event is about and don’t play politics by boycotting something so important .

My 2 cents.

Bring back Ray- I agree on that one.

Can do without the pastor, nice woman, but it always felt like it was about her.

There’s a video shows all empty and it’s during the National Anthem. So this is probably jack defending his sorry excuse for empty event.

It’s supposed to be a solemn remembrance of the lives 3000 lives that we’re lost in that terrible attack, but Jack keeps calling the audience “Folkes.”

Thank God Jack never gives the prayers.

It could have been that other wierdo that claims to be part of the city. I've seen him at a few events sneaking around candidly taking pictures. Although not illegal to take pictures, I wouldn't feel comfortable with him candidly taking pictures of my daughters and their friends. I don't know if he posts them on some creeper website.

The only con jobs that use city events for photo opps are Jack and Art, especially since he's running for re-election, saw his flyers...nothing but lies, must have had jack telling him what lies to write.
