Trigger Happy Montebello Police had to pump 30 to 40 rounds into a drunk guy with a pistol they surrounded in the middle of Greenwood Avenue? They could not simply shoot him in the leg to take him down? Hope his relatives sue and win millions for his murder.

let this be a lesson to thugs everywhere including South Montebello. RESPECT THE LAW! Dont think your special and can be pointing guns at police and act like your some kind of superhero. Dumb shit saw too many cowboy movies or spent too much time playing nintendo. This is real life and one must respect the law....especially if you give a shit about your kids and woman. Dont go kidnapping kids from your girlfriends and dont try to outrun the law.

It's a tragedy to see so many people innocently killed by police officers who are angry and can't control there frustration. This montebello man clearly was walking towards them with his hands down. He never pointed anything at them and it is sad to say but often the officers get away with it. What if the girlfriend or wife was lying. What if he didn't have a gun or wasn't even drunk. What if he just wanted to spend some time with his daughter and she was preventing him from seeing her. I guess will never know. There's alot of possibilities that the police never keep in mind. They only keep there trained tactics in mind and that's it. So sad. Now another little girl will grow up hating cops because they killed her dad.

I agree that at times the police force abuse their power but stop making excuses for criminals. Let me see if I get this straight?

If a woman calls the police to report a kidnapping, you want the police to ignore the report or call? If they see a driver that matches the caller's description/license place, and IF he were innocent, I'm sure all he could have done was pull over like any other law abiding citizen would have done and been questioned and claimed his innocence right then and there....not drive all around town avoiding them.

Are you out of your mind?

The rules are simple. Obey the law.

We just got word from an inside person in the coroner's office. He wanted to die, he apparently disclosed this to his sherriff brother, so he knew what he was doing. Apparently the disrespectful thing that the cops did is they let the body lay there for hours upon hours outside of a typical investigation window period. They wanted to send a message to the south Mtb community...now thats really messed up!

A drunk #$@hole kidnaps a kid, drives around risking the lives of others, calling his friends saying how he is not going to go down easy. Exits his car with a gun in hand, and people are making excuses for this idiot. Amazing

Yes it was a gun he was holding. He was a security guard licensed to carry one and had it when he took the baby and drove off drunk. His brother is a deputy and had been on the phone with him at one point. He knew what was going to happen when he got out of the vehicle. Watch the video and you can see after they shoot his leg he raises it and tried to fire at the cops before they kill him. Either way, somebody was going to get hurt. I think it was completely justified in the way it ended.

Reported Tuesday 3/29/11: "Investigators say they have positive proof that not only did the suspect have a weapon and aimed it at them, there is evidence that he fired at police officers multiple times."

Poor dude. All he did was party too much on a Monday "morning" and then go for a cruise to a Mc Donalds "drunk" with his little kid in the back. His old lady was overreacting when she called the cops. Then at the end of the "high speed" chase he just wanted to look hard in front of his homies and the whole neighborhood and show how badass he was. Whats wrong with that? The cops shoulda just waited till he was out of bullets before they ran over to him and asked him to please turn around so we can put these cuffs on you. They have bullet proof vests n shit. That's disrespectful they did him like they did. Dude went down like a G, just like in the rap videos. If it was me I would do it exactly the same cuz I'm hard and don't give a shit bout nobody but me.

yes, your head is about as hollow as a guns barrel. I just like to make up sheet to ruffle morons feathers that like to take all of this nonsense seriously. I could give a crap about anybody or anything that really goes on in this screwed up world. It doesnt really make a direct difference in my life but obviously does in yours. this is as much fun as going to the local amusement park with the family for a day except I get paid good money to sit behind a desk for most of the day and get pleasure out of all this stupidity.
