"If I dare...!" Ooo, I'm scared now! Are you insinuating that if I don't approve of the El Monte gang lifestyle, I'm virtually inhuman? Then you are dumber than a bag of adjustable-head socket-wrenches. Shall I make personal assumptions about you? "King Taco" you call yourself. Hmmm...let's see...you're a fat Mexican?'Zat about right? See how silly that sounds? You probably don't. You probably CAN'T. What's the last year of education you completed? If you don't have AT LEAST a bachelor degree, you're ill- equiped to debate me, ergo, it's futile to even try to have any sort of dialectical exchange.

People only run there mouth and are ignorant cause they have no idea and they have nothing better to do then run there mouths. People have choices on what they want to do in life. Moth just dont have a role model to help them make right decisions. Sonny is my wife cousin. My wife and kids are all living in SGV while i am stationed in Korea. I agree we need some Hispanic leaders to speak up and try to change things. Until then things are only getting worst. Its sad but its the truth.
Have you tried to be a mentor to some you know in gangs to try to show them a better way? I know what life is in the military and it can show a different view of what life has to offer. These knuckleheads in gangs have no idea of what life could be outside of their imposed gang borders.
I try to speak to some that I come across in my everyday life and can only hope I have planted a seed to a brighter future...most don't have positive role models and gravitate to gangs.

Ignorant people want to blame cholos but don't want to help solve the problem. Where are the gang prevention programs? We're just locking up young men & having them glorified by adolescents. Instead we should stress the importance of knowledge. These young men need to find out about themselves. They need to understand the importance of their heritage & culture. They have no identity. No understanding of their place in this world. They're lost & all we do is kick them when we're down instead of showing them an alternate life style. You people need them to point fingers at & look down on them so you could feel better.
Ha, ha, what a bleeding heart you are. These gangsters are worse than animals and need to be locked up and kept out of society. Gang prevention programs have been tried for decades and are a complete failure, but you liberals never can understand that.

Sorry King Taco, I usually have a pretty good imagination, but it's awfully difficult to think of a full-grown adult gangbanger as "a child." How does an event such as this come as a total shock to a family surrounded by gang culture? I have no idea if HIS family had or have any gang ties, but I'm sure they knew he was in a gang, so why didn't they reign in their kid B4 it was too late? I'm not heartless, I just can't sympathize w/ the gang lifestyle. Whenever a killing happens people act like the victim got hit by a random bolt of lightening; if they'd just open their eyes, this sort of violence can be easily prevented. Don't choose violence. Don't be in a gang. Is it really all that tempting? And don't tell me "these kids have no choice" because they do. Everyone has a choice. Oh--and just because I blog, that doesn't mean I don't get plenty of "action;" always have. I was a stripper for several years, and I still appear in Penthouse movies-- in expository capacities only. And I'll try King Taco--Mexican food's my favorite-- thanx for the tip!

Your nephew was a bad person (gang banger) and got what happens in the hood. To bad your family couldn't have kept him straight, but their again many gangsters families are just as bad as the gangster.

I lost a family member to this type of violence. I dont condone it in any way. I still remember the sound of the detectives' shoes as they came down the driveway at 3 in the morning to inform us of our loss. Some learn the hard way. Thats why I defend the family. I'm sure you would too. Try the Al Pastor. ITS THE BOMB. ENJOY.

sure sunny wasn't a bad person. he was just an idiot doing idiot stuff and now is gone.

Of couse he's going to treat his family member and friend very well. Even rapist treat their family member, well they just like to victimize other people. Of course it's something you will never understand because you're seeing it from the inside out, not the outside in.

This sonny guy was probably a useless piece of sh!t. he didn't go to school for an education, doesn't have a good job or probably a job at all. At least join the damn army and serve a purpose to society you useless piece of crap.

The sad part was that you didn't help your cousin's wife. You couldn't be that role model that you speak of. In fact you're justifying his lifestyle and saying that's how it is. Why not take him to the Army with you?

Like most high school kids in the sgv who couldn't make the grades to go t college, they join the army or get a low wage job.
