ACE Board Trying To Change, Montebello Not Yet On Board With Changes

There are 6 comments on the Pasadena Star-News story from Jun 29, 2012, titled ACE Board Trying To Change, Montebello Not Yet On Board With Changes. In it, Pasadena Star-News reports that:

The San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments recently parted ways with its executive director - who is facing an investigation by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Now, ACE, the entity Montebello must deal with to get railroad improvements, wants to distance itself from the COG. Although Rick Richmond, chief executive officer, says Conway's ouster is only a coincidence, he said his agency can operate more efficiently on its own because it will no longer need San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments's approval for budgets, projects and or other things.

Richmond has begun testing the waters for a separate ACE joint powers agreement. So far, he's received positive but informal responses from prospective member cities of El Monte, Industry, Pico Rivera, Pomona, San Gabriel and Walnut, he said. Montebello has not yet responded.

How much you want to bet Bill liar liar Molinari will keep Montebello from joining in because the old man wants the train to go underground? Hopefully Hadjinian will resist him and be a stand up guy unlike little drummer boy Barajas. It will be interesting to see how this game plays out.

Does Montebello have a Subway?

Bill will be on board- the only way to get a "full lowering" is through ACE
May be easier now that SCCOG is out of the picture.
Too many COG members had NO interest in ANY ACE projects.
ACE is an unnecessary illconceived project.
The best project would have run from the Ports out the 91 freeway corridor to the Inland empire for a sorting yard/ terminals and then to the passes to the East
