The saying goes, "You can't win against City Hall"
There is truth to this saying, and many people know it to be true. The City has millions of dollars at their disposal. Money is Power, and power corrupts.
In most of these types of cases, especially before judges, the truth doesn't even matter.
All that matters is who you want to believe.
Do you want to believe the City, or these accusers calling the system unlawful and corrupt?
Most Judges will accept and say anything, no matter how untruthful or unlawful, and even lie themselves(Believe me,I have the evidence), just to keep their livelihood and this system secure.
And, who suffers? We the people.
And it keeps all of us in the blind to it, unless it is spread all over the media. Then, the City will settle, not necessarily to save money, as they would have us believe, but to keep us blind.
This explains why we have so many homeless people. So, we aren't necessarily blind, but they say those people are just lazy and don't want to work. Yeah, right.
The problem therein is because big money, makes contributions to government officials, to pay them off so that they can keep hiring illegal workers at low salaries instead of citizens. Thereby, bypassing our laws.
How does settling save the City money?
They have dozens of Attorney's on the payroll.
They are going to pay them regardless.
They settle to keep us blind, and ignorant to what is really going on.
It called keeping the Status Quo.
The rich get richer and the poor stay poorer.
Sounds to me like someone is not too happy with the system. News flash! Stay out of trouble, work hard, and be nice to people and life will be easy. Don't blame the system on everything. People like you go around feeling sorry for yourself and blame the man. U r right the pres is black and he worked hard to get where he is. But if somone disagrees with him its not because he is an idiot its because he is black. Enough is enough. Get over it. These clowns suing the city, both white BTW, are using the black women and mexican guy to say the chief is a racest. Really? That's all they could come up with and they knew no one would listen to two white guys so they convinced these two idiots to jump on board.

The City does not have millions of dollars at it's disoposal and has not had since 2007
(although they borrowed heeavily to maintain their unsustainable lavish lifestyle till 2010)
(spent mostly on employees wages and benefits and budgeted overtime---with a lot of un-approved extra overtime thrown in)
Now they are in deep debt.
As to this topic:
The City "borrows" from its self insurence fund.
Good luck if they lose a big lawsuit.
Did the city ever reimburse the Police asset forfeture fund- which is a "restricted" account?
How do they plan to make the big baloon payment on the loan they made with the RDA to "refund" the other restricted accounts?
How much deeper are they letting the Hilton mangement get into their pants this year?
(that's waht deferring their payment (yet again) entails).
Did anyone hear Wilsey or Dragoo stand up in front of the council and say the restricted account was embezelled?

The answer about asset forfieture is an easy one. The feds audit that account once a year, every year, no exceptions and Mont has always been in good. Dragoo an Wilsey never mentioned it in front of council cause they just recently made it up! The only compliants they have file or mentioned have all been recently. None while they were here and all after they got caught with their pants down. Kind of like when you see you son hit your other son and the hitter says "he started it.". These two will make up anything to get out of trouble. Think about it.

WDN fish wrap made me think of this. Did the state controllers office miss the alledged miss use of asset forfeiture funds these clowns alldge took place? I think not. Just another example of how stupid these captains are. They should have thought of the state audit before making that claim. If u are thinking maybe the state didn't look there. You are wrong. They looked at all funds both state and fed. Plus there is , according to one council agenda report, nearly two million in that account. Don't think they would miss that.

News Flash!!

You know nothing about me. I have never been in trouble with the law, ever in my life. I have never had one complaint filed against me by any of my fellow employees. I was kind and respectful to everyone that I worked with. My evaluation with the City, before the retaliation, specifically called me a hard worker, and rated me standard or above in all areas.

Now, if two white people, a black and a mexican are all calling this person a racist, does that tell you nothing? Probably not.

Would management mediation, and diversity training solve such problems? Yes.

Will the City, use this as a method? No. They don't want to upset the Status Quo. Instead, they retaliate against the complaining party, which leads to law suits.

Your statements are clearly stated to support "the man". Such words, clearly show your alignment is racially based. Ridicule anyone complaining about the injustice in the system, because it works for "the man" and you. To your kind, there is no need for equal opportunity protection. To your kind, if you can't fit in, quit.

Well, Another News Flash!!!!
Not everyone is going to fit in. People are prejudice, they prejudge people. And, it has nothing to do with a persons intelligence, experience, work ethic or social graces.

Certain people need to be trained how to work effectively in a diverse professional work environment, which is naturally different from their home environment. Because people tend to want homes around others like them because they feel more comfortable or safe. Everyone wants to feel safe at home. I guarantee you that these white Police Chiefs and white officers don't live in Watts. No, they live in Simi Valley. And, they take their personal idealogy to their professional environment. Thus, the need for diversity training, which the City wouldn't do. Because, they like the separation, it feels safe to them. Management doesn't believe, nor, does it seem they will ever accept that they are the problem. Well, you can't be equal and separate. Unless, of course, you believe Watts and East L.A. are equal to Simi Valley.

Do you know if the vote of confidence in Chief McClure was secret or not?

Can you explain how the 4 suing officers have no confidence in the chief and all the rest of the officers have full confidence in him?

I and told that in most other CA cities, diversity training is mandatory by policy. Do you know what, if any, policies the MPD has regarding prejudice and racist expressions?

You are right I don't know you. Nor would I want to. You sound like the type of person who has been stoppd by the police many times but every time you were doing nothing wrong. Or when a Taxi doesnt stop for you it because of your race. Or because you didn't get the promotion its because of your gender or race or both. I'm sick of it and I'm sick of people using the race or gener card every time something doesn't go their way. A very good example is in this law suit. Lundy is saying she was passed over for promotion because she is a black female. Truth is, She has never been elligable! Never on the list! You have to put forth some effort. She didn't. So. Sh pulls the race and gender card and peoople like you buy it. Don't believe me? Call human resources and ask if Lundy has ever been on the list.

For sure there were those in the last lawsuit who never bothered to take the qualifing exam who claimed discrimination in promotion but also on work assignments.
Who made those work assignments?

It is not simple but the information must be provided. You have to put in a public records act request and be as specific as possible. In this case you would ask for police department eligibility list for the rank of lieutenant for the past five years. You should be provided with the same list the chief gets. Now it varies by city. Some keep records for two years others for five. If they give u a line that they can not provide the names that's cool. Cause even with the race and gender u will not see a black female on any of the lieutenant list for mont in the pastr five years or ever.

The city's attorney has found reasons to deny PRA requests in the past, and elegibility lists sound to me like something they can withold from the public. It might be more useful to ask a councilmember to get the lists, as they cannot be witheld from councilmembers.

Why would a council member divulge confidential personnel information? Oh, wait.... Bill will disperse at your briefing.... Silly me! Forgot what I was dealing with.... Talk about corruption! Do you want my employee number? May save some time.... I may still remember it....

Now, now, the combination of your English language deficiency, lack of knowledge of Montebello in this millennium, and your obsession with Bill all come together for a perfect storm of confusion on your part.

I never said that a councilmember would divulge confidential personnel information. Re-read my post with a dictionary next to you. There are 5 councilmembers, in case you didn't know. I didn't say which one to ask. As someone who has the reputation of having objectively verifiable facts, not taking anyone's side, and placing Principles before Personalities, all 5 freely talk to me.

Reputation with whom? The rest of your co-disciples? I don't have to throw my education at people's faces, unlike yourself! I am comfortable with my accomplishments and reputation. What are you trying to make up for? Regardless, personnel information is confidential and should not be made available to a busy body as yourself to view. Regardless of whatever self-perceived status in the community you may envision that you possess.

Your perfect storm of confusion now is reaching hurricane status.

1. "Reputation with whom?" --I clearly, in English, said that my reputation was with the 5 councilmembers. Perhaps I should have used French, Russian, or German? What is your primary language, as it obviously isn't English?

2. "I don't have to throw my education at people's faces, unlike yourself!" --I know that you don't understand the concept of double negatives, but what you actually are saying here is that neither of us has to throw their educations at people's faces. I realize that you don't know what you are saying, so I will assume that you really mean "I don't have to throw my education at people's faces, like you do." I don't throw my education in anyone's face. I merely raise it when you refuse to take linguistic direction one who is your superior in that field as shown, uncountable times over and over, and also here.

3. "I am comfortable with my accomplishments and reputation." --I don't believe I have listed any significant accomplishments of mine. To do so would be immodest. I addressed reputation above.

4. "What are you trying to make up for?" --I am clearly trying to make up for your, apparently willful, linguistic and knowledge ignorance, apparently without much progress.

5. "Regardless, personnel information is confidential and should not be made available to a busy body as yourself to view." --As I have never said that I wanted to view any such information, this is the classic corrupt 'Straw Man' arguement: Take a position against something never said by the non-corrupt opponent.

6. "Regardless of whatever self-perceived status in the community you may envision that you possess." --Of course, I cannot respond to this, as it is not a sentence, statement, or question, but merely a predicate clause withour a subject or verb. "possess" in this case is not being used as a verb, but as part of a long-winded adjectival qualifier phrase for the noun "status".

Can't we all just speak the same language? Apparently not. This is why I, and the Montebello Adult School, will never run out of work.
