Yes the courthouse is only a 1/4 mile away from the 59 club, but last time i heard the sheriff's office did not work at the courthouse first of all.i think you meant to say that the sheriff's office is only a 1/4 mile away .... second hopefully for our county sake there not just sitting at the office waiting for a call there out there patrol our streets.... sometime the meth, assaults, and thefts is more important than if you think someone is drunk ...
just because someone left the 59 club doesn't make them drunk...DETECTIVE!!!!

<quoted text>Keating was fibbing. I've called the sheriff's office numerous times at 3am to report the drunks @ Club 59 tearing down the dirt roads, and never had ONE sheriff's car show up.(this being less than 1/4 mile away from the court house)
1.7 million a year budget? Damn, what does he do with that money?

The Sheriff's office is directly behind the courthouse, genius. Everyone in the county knows that, so go troll someone else's forum.

You're right, they're not sitting at the office. At 2-3am they're sitting in Bowie at either Allsup's or Wal-Mart chatting with the Bowie local police... a whole lotta meth cooking going on there, I'm sure. Let's see: dry county, exactly one 'bar' in the county... where would I place the sheriff's cars to most likely catch drunks at 2am on a Friday/Saturday night?

You're also right, when someone is tearing down (ie 50+ mph) the dirt road by my house, blowing through the stop signs at 3am with their headlights off, yelling and screaming and throwing beer cans & bottles out the window, they're probably not drunk. Doesn't take much detective work, there.

Point being: the sheriff's office is almost completely useless in the county. They have one radar gun, and the ONLY place I EVER see them pull people over is in Forestburg... surprise, surprise, Keating's town of residence.

I wish they'd at least go back to pulling the people over on Hwy 59 that were touching/crossing the white line... at least we had a presence then.

Ronnie Reynolds go's to church almost every Sunday. He has around 28 years of law enforcement experience and has lived in Montague county most of his life. He would be our best candidate for Sheriff

Will you check out who Killed Poor "Patrick Fleitman" from Montague Co.?
one of our good kids born and raised here and no one knows any thing! Not a druggie as most likely those who did the killing are.
Deputies need shaking up and a lot of education.
Montague Co. is in a bad mess.

Going to church every Sunday doesn't mean that you have a relationship with Jesus!! It means you show up at church every Sunday...doesn't even mean that you are a Christian...not saying that he isn't...just saying that going to church is not any proof of a relationship with Jesus!

God Bless you!

Well, Keating's out of the race, poor useless sheriff couldn't even secure the nomination.

So, Cunningham or Reynolds?

He teaches the Sundy school lesson every third Sunday, how close do you want him to be? He also has 30 years Law Enforcement experience, and 20 years of his of this he was a supervisor, he has good leadreship skills. My vote is for Ronnie Reynolds.

I was not insinuating that he isn't a Christian, nor that he doesn't have a relationship with Christ...just stating that going to Church every Sunday (or teaching a Sunday School class) doesn't make me, you or anybody else a Christian. It is my hope that he is and everyone has that personal relationship with Christ.

Did not mean to offend you, him or anyone with my comment...just looking to dispell the belief that going to church makes you a Christian.

It is the walk you walk...not the talk you talk if you KWIM!

Pleasant evening to all!

Cunningham!!!! Please get the idiot Keating out. His "good ole boy" ways have got to go. Lets get some respect for the Deputies. Hope Paul deligates his authority the way it should be and also get that lazy butt Chief out. Jim, the Enterprise needs you back!

Reynolds PLEASE!!!! Reynolds has 20 years of police supervision. He has proven leadership skills and that's what we need in our next sheriff to turn things around and move the department in the right direction. Cunningham is a good man but he does not have the leadership and training skills that Reynolds has.

Are any of the candidates going to get rid of Keatings deputies? I dont know that much about the deputies. Who cares if the deputies are making traffic stops. It is not their fault Im sure. They have no man power. Im sure they only have two or three at a time to watch the whole county of Montague. I have lived here a long time and haven't ever met the deputies. I would like feedback from anyone who has met them and want to know what they are like? Thanks.
I think Reynolds is the best choice. I haven't met him, but I have a bad feeling about Cunningham. Cunningham should have more meetings or something. Reynolds seems to be a go getter since he blew away Blackburn. It is the year of the Democrats I believe.
