Are we absolutely sure that P.F.Chang's will be there? I have contacted their company via their website, and they deny moving in there.

BTW - The Business section of last weekend's Philadelphia Inquirer talked about Provide Town Center. In it, they said Phase II opening (the core inner stores) is postponed indefinitely, until market conditions improve. The developer was quoted as saying whether its 6 months or 2 yeaars, they're prepared to wait for conditions to improve... (They also said if they would have known what they know now, they wouldn't have done the small retail format - they would've just put in a Costco or something...)

Every one of the new stores / restaurants I’ve gone into has been completely packed. (1 hour wait for olive garden on a Wednesday) People have been waiting for this center to open for so long, there is obviously a lot of demand. The sooner they open phase 2 the better. Even if they open with a lot of stores empty, i think the one's that do open will do very well and the empty stores will fill up quicker than they think. They are afraid to open phase 2 because the economy is doing poorly, but this is the kind of think we need to bring it back. it's creating a ton of new jobs and will bring in a lot of tax revenue. I don’t want to start an economic discussion because i admittedly know nothing about economics, but i think they sooner they open phase 2 the better.

Took my wife to Olive Garden last Tuesday night - Was surprised to find a 40 minute wait! Great to see the interest, and looking forward to continued openings...

Just got an email....for anyone who's interested. That the final vote goes through this week to put a super WalMart at the Royersford exit. Nice way to screw up a residential area.

Noooo! We already have one in East Norriton, King of Prussia and another in Pottstown. We definitely do not need one in Royersford.

Don't forget the Walmarts in Trooper and Harleysville. They're all over the place. We need to say no more.

It's so unfortunate. From what I understand the board meets and will approve the Walmart this Thursday (regardless of what the residents want). The townshipship has tried to keep the meeting quiet. It was originally going to be a Sam's Club - but they resubmitted plans and are making a super Walmart. They might as well just level the Genuardi's plaza........they'll be putting that center out of business anyway! I can't imagine what the trip on Township Line will take after the new school is opened and the Walmart is opened!

This walmart proposal should be made it's own post so that people are aware, they may not click on this thread and see it. I think people should go to the meeting and protest. I don't live in RoFo, so I don't know what me going would do, but other RoFo residents should have a say (and the officials elected by them should listen)!

ervol - the problem with these boards is anyone can say anything. Who did you get your email from? Is this being reported anywhere else? Sorry to doubt you but I'd just like to know if there's any basis to these claims. I live just off Township Line Rd and need to know if this is true.

Hi...totally understand -- I live off of Township as well, on the UP township side. My community was notified and an email passed around.... here is a "cut and paste" from the email. He also attached the agenda and it is on there.

The settlement with Wal-Mart is on the agenda for 12-10-09. YES, it really is on the agenda and the board will vote to approve it. An order will be issued by the judge, and Wal-Mart will get their store, regardless of what the residents do.

If there is any opposition, residents should plan to voice those very quickly.
I am no longer on the board, so I can no longer influence anything. I have helped to keep this at bay for 4 years. In my place will be Tom Neafcy, the former Supervisor who rezoned the property from residential to commercial. I do not anticipate much sympathy for the local residents, as there was zero the first time. As you recall, we were not even notified of the action.(They sent the notice to Dewey Homes offices).

Once again, residents can speak about item on the agenda (which the settlement is ON the attached agenda) at the very start of the meeting.
They may also voice their opinion while it is being discussed.
And lastly, late in the evening, residents have an opportunity at the end of the meeting "public comment" to state their concerns.

There will be burden on the police (about 500 additional police calls a year). a "traffic stacking" effect on Long Meadow Road ---which was not designed to have queuing vehicles, as deep as 7-10 cars waiting at the traffic light and more.

Walmart is on page 3 of the agenda for the December 10th Board of Supervisors meeting. All it says is "Walmart Settlement".

http://www.limerickpa.org/pdf/agendas-minutes...

Going back to the minutes of the July 16th meeting there is a mention of Walmart taking the place of Sam's Club that was shot down 5 and a half years ago. It's on page 9. It also says something about residents having a say at a public hearing. Has anyone heard of them having one yet? Or if they will have one at all? From the previous discussion it sounds like this BOS vote will be the deciding one.

I've started a new forum on this topic....so apologize for all that are not intersted -- I did want to get this latest update out there though.

Per Dan Kerr, Township Manager, please be advised that the Township has just received a request from Wal-Mart to be pulled off the agenda for this Thursday’s Board of Supervisors meeting. They have asked to be placed on the Board of Supervisors agenda for January 19, 2010. A copy of the January agenda will be forwarded to your attention when it is available.
