The death of a New Market man while in the custody of off-duty sheriff's deputies at a Frederick movie theater has been ruled a homicide, according to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.
The Police are to blame
F T P
We smell another coverup
The deputies who were with Saylor at the time of his death, identified as Lt. Scott Jewell, Sgt. Rich Rochford and Deputy First Class James Harris, continue to work their normal assignments while the case is being investigated.
When is the indictment?
Why no jail?

He didn't have a medical emergency autopsy reported his death as a homicide by asphyxiation. If you knew anything about down syndrome you would know that they don't just die at 26. Next time educate yourself before you post defending murders.

He wasn't murdered. There's no intent, thus no murder. Accidental death plain and simple after he suffered a medical emergency.

Typical Police cover-up terminology "Accidential Death".
taking of human life. Homicides that are neither justifiable nor excusable are considered crimes. A criminal homicide committed with malice is known as murder, otherwise it is called manslaughter. A homicide is excusable if it is the result of an accident that occurred during a lawful act and that did not amount to criminal negligence.
Handcuffing and asphyxiating a person obvious of having Downs Syndrome is criminal negligence and is chargeable as murder. Lt. Scott Jewell, Sgt. Rich Rochford and Deputy First Class James Harris are alleged murderers.
What is plain and simple is the police and people that support the aggressive nature of what law enforcement has become are part the problem of how our society became so violent.
When you look at most cases of law enforcement abusing their delusional god given powers, what you see is most victims at the hand of police, was just attempting to stand up for their rights and some poor P.Os. little boy ego got hurt.
We must take our country back starting at home by eliminating aggressive police departments and personnel locally.

You have to love the trolling police on these forums, trying to defend the indefensible. Obviously, the man was placed n a choke hold and died. They probably cuffed him after he was unconscious and then realized (since they aren't the most intelligent of people) that he was dead. This goes on all over the country, as police realize they can get away with just about anything. And to the clown that said "murder and homicide are different." You are absolutely RIGHT! However, if you or I (well, not you, because you're probably a cop) did this, we'd be in jail on the homicide with no bail, while these particular sociopaths are still on the job.

The only reason they are defending the police is because they themselves are police, trolling and trying to do damage control. Want to see some REAL comments? Check out the Frederick County, MD Facebook page. No trolling cops there, just a pee'd off public, telling them like it is. Deplorable that this man had to die and these animals are still working. If it was my son, they'd be having their wakes right now.

I thought the autopsy report called the cause of death asphixiation and the manner of death homocide. That means the asphixiation was caused by another human being. The "medical emergency" was the term the SO used to describe the incident. That turns out to be untrue.

So when does an employee of a movie theater become a cop for the purpose of liability and conduct? The taxpayers become liable for this because the theater hired off duty cops that killed a man incident to their duties as private security guards?

So why is it that 3 veteran cops could not remove a Downs individual from a theater without killing him?

Just how dangerous is a theater that pays this kind of money to employ 3 well paid veteran cops to keep it safe? Not exactly a Chamber of Commerce moment.

Why are cops making $90k,$75-80k and $60+k working as security at a theater any way?

If they were working as security guards then why is this being treated as a if this was line of duty?

Will the county be liable for their actions or Hill Management that was employing them as security guards?

What are the terms of the insurance policy the sheriff required of Hill? What risks? If they become cops as soon as anything that can cause injury starts then the policy seems meaningless.

275lbs man with retard strength who was actively assaulting 3 police officers. The officers showed great retraint accrding to numrous on scene civilian witnesses by only handcuffing him (perfectly legal and necessary in this case).

Which of those supposed witnesses is qualified to comment on police or security guard restraint?

Where did you become privy to such statements? They have not been released to the public have they?

That makes you either liar or cop, doesn't it?

All this over a $10 movie ticket...Really? Why didn't someone see the "situation" and just pay for the ticket so he could stay there? Why didn't the "security" just let him stay? It's not like he was committing a federal crime or anything...Sheesh!

And the other questions is why did the person who was supposed to be with him leave him alone? To go out to get the car? Why didn't he/she take Ethan with them? That is never mentioned.

Also, Ethan was a very strong man. Depending on what the "situation" was he could have really hurt himself or others in the theatre. The hired security did what they had to do to get control. I am sure that they had no intention of hurting, much less killing Ethan. It was an accident.

So tragic on many levels.....
