I know somebody who's 20 something brother left his Father's handgun on an end table in the living room, while the family slept. The children woke up - ages 2 and 5. The 2 year old got ahold of the gun. The 5 year old tried to get the gun away from the 2 year old and the gun went off - shooting the 2 year old child in the chest. The two year old survived. This was on TV 14 years ago. The Father was then and still is a Balto Co cop and the Grandfather - and owner of the gun is deceased - but he was the warden at MCIJ. Do ya think there where any repercussions for his actions ?

I think 6 1/2 years in prison - with 3 hots and a cot a day is giving too much. He should be out working and taking care of his children and he should get 6 1/2 years of AA and lots of community service. Put these people to work.
