The Everett City Council passed an amendment to its sign code regulations Nov. 5 that will allow lighted signs at the top of buildings in the downtown area. A move supported by the Hampton Inn and the new Courtyard by Marriott hotel under construction, the changes will allow two upper story signs for businesses with a maximum size of 190 square feet and a minimum of 60 feet above the sidewalk.
