The applause died down quickly as the band clad in military camo fatigues bowed. There was still scatted hand clapping and a few hoots when Sargent Larry Cox leaned into the microphone, his Gibson banjo hanging akwardly from his shoulder.
"Now, friends and neighbors we'd like to do an old number written by Scott Langford as a minstrel song in 1922. It's called "Sleeping dog Blues" Hit it boys!"
