As of Aug. 1, Monroe County Community College will be entirely tobacco-free. The use of tobacco will be prohibited on all college grounds, inside and outside, due to the college's revised Smoking and Tobacco Use Policy - approved by the school's Board of Trustees in April.

Yet another college that has decided that the smart thing to do is to ban smoking. It is about time. Young people need to know that smoking is no longer an acceptable vice and that smoking will limit thier upward mobility. Smokers, as a group, are less educated than non smokers so they are less likely to go to college tp begin with. Maybe it has something to do with spending your tuition money on something that is going to kill you.
