My family and I are contemplating making an offer on a Lakefront home in the Woodland Beach neighborhood. Can any one tell me more about Woodland Beach?

All the beach areas and Monroe itself is dirty and crooked. Do not move children to this area, for they will be lost. Drugs and thugs. You will regret moving here.

Look into it much further. Many people say it is nice. Geographicaly yes it is. But the people and the authorities are corrupted. take much time to study this place before moving here. I can not tell you enough about how many people move here and regret it and never post here or anywhere. There is no way in knowing untill it is upon you. Dirt filth lies. Wish I could say something good about the area. Jefferson schools is a nightmare the police don't care and your children will be lost to filth. TRUTH...Study much. Don't believe me or any one or two people. Look closely.

Good luck.

idk much about the crooked cops and things of that nature, but monroe has just as many youths and minorities as does many other places in the U.S. i myself have never had any problems with authorities being crooked, or thugs, not saying there are no thugs, or wanna be thugs kids.... just stay away from the east end and you'll do just fine. Good Luck Finding Work Though, lol.

I work in toledo, so i know about thugs, crime etc. I'm just trying to find more out about the beach neighborhoods. They seem like a weird mishmash of decent suburban homes and $10,000 Shacks. So it's hard to tell what this neighborhood would be like to live in. Do I need to worry about a lot of crime etc? Or are the beach neighborhoods it a typical suburban existance with your occasional break in and domestic dispute or guy growing pot in his basement.

I know those neigborhoods are not North Shores or Bolles Harbor but is it like the east side of Monroe?

I would not move to any of the beaches. There are a few good families there, but not enough. My good friend lives in woodland and has many problems with break-ins and the local teens. She hates living there. There is a huge drug problem (not as bad as the east side but close) and rougher people. Jefferson use to be a great school, but now its all emo's and kids with problems. There is no bus system, so kids walk or get dropped off after elemtary. Use to be a better place but not a place I would ever consider moving to. Too many other nice area's in monroe.

the best places in monroe to live in and with the best turn over rates for homes ARE riverside manor, and quite possibly the little street of Ruff Dr. off n. custer. good luck hunting!

The Army Corps. of Engineers are building new breakwalls on Woodland Beach. When they're done, the work will also include a 3 acre park/playground. Larry Smith is the township supervisor and has been instrumental in getting this project started. Woodland Beach used to be a trashy area back in the 70's & 80's but now Woodland Beach or any of the beach areas are good places to live. Stay away from Monroe City or Monroe Township, they're on the downslide with crime, drugs and high taxes.

well first off we are happy we moved here! the schools are just great! nothing wrong with jefferson schools at all. my daughter loves it! guess what she dont do drugs or drink or smoke! the kids here are so nice, the kids at the schools are so nice as well. just because some people have a problem living here dont mean everyone does! the cops are just fine, if ya need them call them. oh and if the people that own the houses that they rent would look into the renters before they let them move in there would never be trouble!
so that is what i think :)

Jefferson has a bus system so scratch that person! Woodland is equal to bolles harbor as far as housing and woodlands school is a whole lot better too! Monroe public would be like most large toledo schools children can easily get lost in cracks there and they always cutting at monroe public! Triumph academy is minutes away prolly 5! As far as crime jus like u mentioned jus tha usual bs!!! Check out a few surrounding beaches like baycrest erie shores brest bay grove etc. Because many new houses for cheap because of the mass move outs due to job loss!!! I was born and raised stony point and I think that some from my area r ghetto but no crack or herion houses even there and that's the worst beach! Btw to the haters...suzann jus cause an ex is that doesn't mean us all! Disgusted if wow u wanna call us filth!!! I will have to get runnin water and a bar of soap I guess never had that stuff before! Let me tell my special needs 4 year old he's filthy right quick! Think before u speak! I can solve your torretts syndrome! Btw where u at disgusted u did not mention that! Lol all emo's everyone of them? Theo it aint bad and u won't have a problem comin from toledo u will be alright! Kroger is expensive as shit though just cause its the closest thing around!

We have lived in the area for my whole life and the beaches are the trash of monroe, The police are there every day for one thing or another. Drugs are really bad. And back in the day it was nice but has went to crap in the last 20 years.I had family move due to the drugs and theft in woodland beach! And in detroit beach also. Dont move there! There is a lot of other places to move in monroe that are much better.

The beaches are definitely the "ghetto" of monroe but that doesnt say much cause monroe is a fairly nice place. I would say that most of these comments are from ppl who dont live here, and are middle maybee uper middle class folk who've never live anywhere but nice neighborhoods. Its not a bad place has drugs crime etc. but most "thugs" are bratty wiggers who try to imitate cats on tv or ppl from neighborhoods ive lived in. So please mr. Rich whitey please leave the real talk to the common folk, cause u dont no what ghetto is. And ppl who live in the beaches that think u got it tough better count ur blessins cause it does get worse.
