It is now illegal to smoke at certain locations. As your group of hard-core smokers dwindle away or die off, I believe the government will have less and less use for you and your "supposed" tax contributions, which may I add are mostly used to clean up the messes smoking cause.
So, bottom line...smoking may become illegal, especially if you all do not respect the existing laws.
Extreme negative reactions will call for extreme measures by the "people" and it may soon be illegal.
The government is ran by "the people", and as a democracy, "the majority of the people" rule. Isn't America great?!!!
Which side are you on?
Well, the majority of the people in the places that I frequent may just prefer that the place allow smoking. So - as a non-smoker, YOU WIN! You NOW know that you PROBABLY will be annoyed by smoke if you go INto those places! You NOW know that you can decide to find a place where you will not be ANNOYED!! Isn't America GREAT??

Hmmm interesting that you point out that 80% of the population is non smoking...
All the more reason that, being the vast majority, we should be able to go places, any place outside of our own home, without having to breath in the stench of cigarettes.
Thanks for pointing that out... I did not know the percentage till you said it. Excellent!
pssst...ps. My husband is an insurance agent. And guess what? You smokers pay a higher premium to help DEFER the costs you add due to your smoking induced medical issues to the insurance companies. And notice I said 'Defer'... not pay in whole.
Us non smokers pick up the tab for the rest of that.
And the comment about the overweight people? Well, they arent the ones shoving their habits in our face...or up our nose, or in our hair, or in our lungs... you get the picture.
yes, overweight people are in my face, they are in the store aisle and I can't get around them because many of them are wider than one-half the width of the aisle. They slow me down because they walk so slow. I don't blow cigarette smoke in anyone's face nor do I throw "butts" on the ground or out the window. I am in my late 40s, with a BMI of 22 and very strong and fit. Perfect cholesterol, etc. Overweight people are a Huge drain on society in hundreds and hundreds of ways - so they can't have potato chips if I can't have a cigarette.

All these people who are in favor of a smoking ban are just to ignorant to realize that once you give government the right to ban one persons freedom, more will follow.
Go ahead and support socialism and be happy, but remember it wont be long before you to loose a right, then you wont have anyone to blame but yourself.
the people who approve these bans need to recalled from office and fired.
they clearly are not standing for freedom but for a select group, all you have to open a history book to see how well that has worked out in the past.
