Completely unrelated fun fact: A domestic cat's sense of smell is about fourteen times as strong as a human's.
Have you seen Alice lately?

I don't think she's dead.

It's just a game, dear.

When you realise that, you'll be one step ahead.

When I was competing, my opponent was always bigger than me. When we met on the mat at the start of the bout, he (no matter who it was) would have that intimidating frown on his face. Just before the hand was dropped, I would smile my biggest smile and 9 times out of 10 his frown would recede. Then I punched him in the throat and leg sweeped him and stood over him with my foot on his neck and said, "Next".

It's just a matter of balance.

Sometimes it is "good" to just stand still in the present...take a rest...gather yourself.
Sometimes it is "good" to turn around and view the past...it is "good" to remember from which you came.
The future...I don't know...we seem to never get there. No matter how far we travel...the future is always just out of our grasp.
The lateral movements...well they can be "good" too. It is at times on those little side trip journeys where we uncover the most valuable unexpected treasures. Besides...maybe on those small lateral journeys...we discover that is where the future lies.
Anyway,,,don't be in too much of a hurry to reach the future...you just might miss that little path along the way that leads you to where you were actually intended to be. I have missed far too many of them...
Okay...enough of my "thinking" this morning...I should have another cup of coffee...maybe I will make more sense then!
Good morning to all...
Here is where I live..

Nice place to visit, but the advertisement isn't always completely honest about the experience... or the return trip availability.

This is where I grew up...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =FdFQcdAdmcEXX
I would walk down a well worn path...past the barn...make my way through the undergrowth...and enter a world that only I knew existed...only I was allowed to enter it.
The giant pine trees grew in a cluster...branches reaching toward the ground...as if to protect something...something that lay within.
I would get down on my hands and knees and work my way through them until I reached that magical spot that they watched over.
A blanket of pine needles lay waiting...waiting to take whomever laid upon them on a journey...not to the past or present...nor even to the future...but on a journey that only existed beneath the boughs of the branches.
Even in this magical world there were rules however...rules that had to be followed for the journey to begin.
Rule 1: Lay down on the pine needles
Rule 2: Reach your arms out as far as you can
Rule 3: Look upwards through the branches to catch glimpses of the sky above
Rule 4: Forget about the past...the present...the future...and...just be
The journeys always ended before I was ready for them to...I think it had to do with hearing my mother calling for me. Strange how my mother's voice seemed to carry all the way down the path...pass the barn...and in to my "other" world. I suppose mother's are powerful that way...they always seem to be able to "reach out and touch you"...even when you journey in to a different world.
I am strange this morning...not sure why...but...I think I have no choice but to go with it. Another cup of coffee didn't help.
Thank you for this. I felt as it I had stepped back in time to a wonderful and magical place of my youth. Absolutely Wonderful :)

Catcher does your church look like this?
Thanks for the interesting suggestion.

We will consider it at the next Unvicars meeting.

I expect a dissent from Unvicar River.

Your welcome...

From time to time I revisit places in my mind...it somehow reconnects me to where I am now...maybe as a reminder as how I got here.

My theory is...that what we are as children...those thoughts we had...what meant so much to us...is what we were intended to be...before life happened to us...gave us a new perspective...a perspective that is sometimes jaded.

So I go back...touch that part of myself again...try to bring a little of it forward with me.

Do you remember as a child laying out in the yard at night...watching the fireflies...waiting for possibly one to land on you...even if it was only for a brief moment? The experience of that...the awe of it...womderment...is what I forget sometimes...I want to hold on to that.

I love your "fight". I have just reached a point in my life...I don't want to fight any more. Maybe I have had to many River. I don't want to play games...I am gamed out...I think.

I wish at times that I was the type of person that...well...I don't know what I wish.

That is not quite true...

I want honesty...openness...and to live in a world where people can just be who they are...without all of the hatred from those that want to control.

I will stop...I seem to be angry this morning...think I will go work out...maybe I won't be so angry.

I've laid on many grassy knolls and watched the skies as I dreamed of playing in the clouds and flying over the trees and streams of our farm .

I spent many a winter with my grandparents , no school and lots of snow ., heavy wet beautiful snows .... Snowflakes seemed as big as the palm of my hand. I would hike up on the hill and sit and listen to the snow falling. No noise , just the quiet and the snow , heavy falling all around . Not even the birds made noise , I guess they enjoyed listening too .

It's a beautiful, clear night out, and the moon is HUGE.

I get the same spiritual feeling watching it.
