Anybody going to the new BestBuy store in Monroe, LA?

Can anybody compare it to the store in Shreveport near LSUS?

Is it similar?

I drove by there couple days ago, looks like they are finally done with the construction work, and now they are just working on store preparation type of work, I say may be another month before they will open for business. From the look of it, it looks like a pretty standard size Best Buy. What's interesting is there are also 2 more construction going on right next door, wonder what stores are going to pop up there.
Finally this city is getting a real consumer electronics store, I think I am going to camp out to wait for the opening....I just moved here from another city and really missed seeing a real computer store....I can't believe I am actually wooting for a Best Buy...

I got some pamphlet in the mail with three coupons for discounts, and it said that the grand opening would be Thursday June 19, 2008.

OK, you were right, it opened Thursday night. I just went there tonight.
But I have to say, don't have too high expectation for this store, it's actually a bit tiny. There's no mobile installation(and the car stereo department is tiny), there's not a sight of any Macs(strangely, they have the mighty mouse and apple keyboard in stock), the software section isn't any better than what you will find in an Office Depot. They do however, have a lot of staff, but they didn't bothered to bother me. Overall, this is more like 2/3 size of a "normal" store. But this is still better than nothing I guess, good for some emergency parts run especially they open till 10pm on Fri/Sat...other than that, I think I will pass the $50 DVI cable and $250 nvidia 8800GT.

Thanks for the info.

Your brief report fits with what I had imagined.

Best Buy will be a nice store to have in the Monroe area. They will probably be able to fill web orders with stuff from Shreveport or Jackson.

My wife and I shopped at the Monroe, LA so much we ended up with their silver membership which is really not a big deal. But we bought a Panny HD camcorder and two notebooks and they lowered the price the following week on those items by $100 dollars each. They actually gave us a refund for the difference on all 3 items which was odd but nice.

The store is good for the occasional quick purchase of a hard drive, TV or Bluray movie but not much else. If you want something not in the store you're better off buying from Amazon or B&H since ordering something from the local BB store that isn't in stock would still require shiping.
