I love the Old Man on Pawn Stars. And Chumlee, too. They are a hot mess. I like Storage Wars, also. Barry Weiss is funny.

I haven't seen Phil say anything around the girls. I haven't noticed Willie, Si or Jep say much.

I'm very disappointed in this family and show. My family and I were so excited finally a clean family show on tv. But they have slowly become wordly. My family noticed the vineyard and that sparked a lot of questions in my children. We don't approve of alcohol. They are sending a confusing message, and if you research:a church actually cancelled them for a speaking engagement due to this. I'm glad they took a stand. We can sugar coat or put a spin, or misinterpret anything to make it seem ok. But we all know better and if not do your hard core research and you will see. And yes there are more and more sexual comments being made. Makes me wanna vomit. So I'm done with this show. Seems it's more about fame and fortune. Nothing wrong with making a good living but don't lower your standards for money.
Here are some examples of what I have picked up on. Some are blatant and others are suggestive:

> The episode where Phil was explaining to Cole how crawfish mate, using very descriptive language to describe the body parts.

> Jase talking about what he does or doesn't wear to bed. Too much info, but it's what female viewers want to hear.

> Jase again. Hunting turkey's with Si. Whispering about mating and molesting mannequins. This was extremely erotic. Too much for a PG rating.

> Jase once again. Talking about Willies 14 year old daughter Sadie swapping spit with her boyfriend and condoning it.

> I hate to have to say it, but Jase bragged to reporters about as group of girls that propositioned him in a parking lot. I think we all know this story. Of course he declined the offer. Hope we never have to open up a tabloid and see otherwise. I'd keep him on a short leash. Just saying.

I am convinced that they are probably scripted to say this stuff.

Mixed messages? You betcha! Jase is doing speaking appearances all over the country about his faith. He is probably the smartest of all the Robertson's. When the show is cancelled, he will still have a gig, while the rest of them will be left holding the schtick.

My brother and his teenage daughter came down for the day so we could go to lunch, and my niece asked me to take her to one of Jases's scheduled appearances. I told her that I don't know where I will be on a given day, so, ummmm...sorry. Well, since I am getting ready to leave this area in 2 weeks, she knows I'm done here, so she asked me to take her to the Selma show that's THIS Sunday! Seriously? Ummm..no because it's too far. She wanted VIP tickets! I told my brother to take her. Of course he said no. I knew that was going to happen. Funny stuff because people were listening to us in the restaurant. It's never going to happen. Last summer she asked me to take her to Australia. WHAT??? What's with these kids? LOL

She ended up staying with me here at the beach for a couple weeks in August.. I had to work, but all she had to do was step out of the door and there's the water. That and I had to watch Shark Week everyday. Kids.

Hi Lola. We had about 3-4" here. I was told it never snows here. This is the 4th or 5th time this winter. The snow on the beach looked amazing, but everything is iced over and the roads were bad yesterday because they don't treat them. I had to go out and it was extremely slippery and 4 wheel drive doesn't work on ice. There were lots of busted water pipes over the last couple of months because most people don't live here year around and didn't turn off their water at the meter. Oops.

I hope this is the last snow I see for awhile. Now I know how Gilligan felt. I just want to get off the island. Hoping for a warm up for a quick exit. Hope everything is good where you are. Be safe.

Do you go to church with them? No I don't think the wine deal is going to send them to hell but I am also little disappointment in them. They have the chance to reach thousands for Christ and I would hate this wine deal to hinder that. I think if may have disappointed a lot of people. They are human and we ALL make mistakes. I think they could have done without the wine deal by all means. They didn't need the added income and it just caused them to lose a bit of their chance to reach some. They are a fine family and we all learn from our mistakes. If God doesn't agree with the wine deal I believe he can put a stop to it.
You really don't see the Robertsons doing any thing bad, do you? You are judging them on what every one else is saying! We tend to Judge people wrong when they really haven't done wrong. Now if they were to drink wine, get drunk, cause problems in the family, neighborhood then we could go to them and pray with them and show them how to fix their wrongs! But I don't see them doing this, I see them doing nothing wrong that would separate them from God, I do see them witinessing for God, like Praying at the table at the end of each show, which I didn't hear you comment on. Are we a people that just like to throw stones at good people or are we people that can't get along with anybody no matter how minute the problem is? I'm sure everybody has sin in their lives, if we didn't, then God would have never sent His Son Jesus down to earth to die for me and you. I for one do not want to throw stones at Phil, at you, AnE or any else, for fear that one of those stones just could bounce back and knock my block off. Have a good evening.

I'm not sure how long they will be in school this year, but the county wants to start school after Labor Day, but it's faced a lot of opposition. It's a huge issue here according to the press. They are bogged down by the current circumstances. They have a choice to make. Is this an unusual climate. Not the norm. Hopefully next winter will be mild. I don't think school should start until Sept.

I don't want to throw stones either . I just don't agree with making money on alcohol. How can we lead someone away from something if our name is supporting it ? And as far as causing trouble? No , however,it causes confusion . I don't want kids watching this show any longer because of the sexual comments . It suppose to be a family show right? My 7 yr old doesn't need to hear;when this is rocking don't come knocking! Grow up ppl and act like grown Christians! We are raising the church of tomorrow.

Again, my previous post brings up examples of just a few of the instances that point to situations that don't belong in a show designed to target kids. It's all an attempt to boost ratings and I'm afraid it's not working. The numbers are reflecting just the opposite. It would be nice to sit down with a sandwich or a snack and watch a family oriented program without hearing crude bathroom humor and having to throw the food in the trash. Ridiculous.

Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent for me. What will I give up for Lent? Maybe Duck Dynasty. Who woulda thunk it?

Cool. Do you have a twitter account? I will be leaving this Sunday for Aruba, weather permitting. I don't have your email, but would love to keep in touch. I am going to Romania in July, but will be coming back to the states after I finish up there. I signed up on Twitter just recently. I am on linked-in because that is primarily a business site, but some clients suggested I try Twitter. I am hoping to get some business through Twitter, but I have enough lined up for this year and don't want to over extend. Most of my business is from word of mouth. I am having a website built, which should be completed soon. I have been working for awhile to build a customer base that does not have to use anything but sacred honor to attract business. No gimmicks, but we figure things out. Long term success doesn't come from short term ideologies. It's hard to stand up to what people think we are. I could barely afford college, but when I saw the whole scene, I knew I was able to realize my dream. Struggling, but....God Bless America!

I don't watch any of the main stream channels, except for PBS's Doc Martin. Another show that I love. Someone mentioned Pawn Stars, I like that too. Also American Pickers, good show.
Most of the stuff on T V is junk and idiotic.
So anyhow....ya'll have a good day......
All of TV is scripted to a certain extent. It has to be or it would be so boring no one would watch. It's very complex. I like Pawn Stars, but the shop isn't open 24 hours. When I was in Vegas last year, I stopped by and it was closed. The next day it was open, but the Harrison's weren't there or any of the other people except the big black security guy. The shop is small inside and is in a seedy part of Vegas off the main drag. Most of the merchandise in the shop consisted of souvenirs for the TV show. Nothing else was really being sold or pawned and there was junk in the cases. Some things are on the wall that are seen on the show, but it's mostly a tourist trap, IMO. It kinda changes that warm, fuzzy feeling I once had. Lesson learned. I would rather not know. LOL.

I pretty much believe life is a dress rehearsal.

Lola, it appears that you are a little judgmental! " when this is rocking don't come knocking" may mean something different to someone else than what it does to you. You just may have sex on your mind when you hear that comment, but ever who said that may have a different meaning. So be careful how you accuse Now get it right and teach your Sunday School class with a pure heart. God bless.

I think Romania will be interesting. I want to tour Dracula's castle while I'm there. I need a change of scenery. I've been in this resort town since July and the weather went downhill in November and stayed that way all winter. I was told it never snows here, but it did, and several times. Nor'easters blew through here and the water looked like it was going to come up to the doorstep. No hurricanes, though.

Summer was nice, and I ran on the beach almost everyday. Then all of a sudden it became a ghost town and cleared out. The people that stay have nothing to do but drink and hang out in the bars. They were beating on my door constantly to go out. I was too busy with work and that's not my thing anyway. I had to go occasionally with clients, but drank ice tea mostly and ate a ton of those Cheasapeake Bay blue crabs. During the summer folks set up an outdoor screen and played episodes of Duck Dynasty on the beach a couple times a week at night. Friday is my last day and I'm already packed and ready to go to another tourist location.
