i've been to monroe, LA. and to be honest, i'm surprised there's a company with a major HQ there. because other than the University of Louisiana-Monroe, there's not that much in the town. it's sort of like the Louisiana equivalent of State College PA, a bit less than St Cloud here in MN, and the like. but it's also a fairly cheap area for labor. it's even smaller than Waco TX, which is the home of Dr Pepper.
