Of course abortion is murder. It kills cells, doesn't it?

But that is not the point with those in religion that are offended by abortion.

The point is ... they believe that a "God" is offended by the aborting of human fetuses.

Silly people!

Miscarriage Statistics

Sources vary, but many estimate that approximately 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage; and some estimates are as high as 1 in 3. If you include loss that occurs before a positive pregnancy test, some estimate that 40% of all conceptions result in loss.

If a god is offended by abortion, then miscarriages should never occur, as the all-powerful god should allow every fetus the same chance to be born.

That means that "god" either is useless ... or it doesn't care one way or the other how many fetuses don't become babies ... or that gods are figments of human imaginations.

I suggest you take your pick and make it "seem" real in your psyche ... as that's the name of the religious game.

AHHHHH ... for those "good old days" ... when people in religion believed that disease was punishment for sin and science was EVIL.

Sarcasm intended.

Microbe Hunters by Paul de Kruif … published 1926

At this time, in spite of Semmelweis, the Austrian who had proved child-bed fever was contagious, the Lying-in hospitals in Paris were pest-holes. Out of every nineteen women who went hopeful into their doors, one was sure to die in motherhood. One of these places, where ten young mothers perished in succession, was called the House of Crime.

Theologians taught and still teach that abortion is offensive to gods. I suggest that their intent was to make women feel guilt, and that from the first day on ... those theologians had no right to pretend they were speaking for gods.

If theological gibberish had never existed ... women that chose to have abortions would have had no need to feel guilt.

I suggest that you don't give your mental power away to theologians, as they are simply mental bullies, in god-garb!

Theologians throughout history claimed that the gods supported JUST war ... but that the same gods didn't support abortion.

It was handy for the theologians to always dictate to the gods what the gods had to believe.

Shysters!

Men of the clergy received their messages from somewhere, but I suggest the messages never came from gods.

RCC doctrines on abortion have changed over the centuries. According to Augustine ("On Exodus," sections 21 and 80) and Jerome (Epistle 121, section 4), the soul did not enter the body until roughly 90 days after conception. The reason is that a soul can not enter an "unformed" body. Jerome said, "The seed gradually takes shape in the uterus, and it [abortion] does not count as killing until the individual elements have acquired their external appearance and their limbs." (This matches Bible doctrine, Leviticus 17:11, 14, "the life is in the blood," i.e., not until then, not until the aforesaid development.)

A short study of religious history will make people aware that the theologians never agreed on what the supposed gods were saying.

Theologians often caught mental stupidity from other supposed theologians.

According to the theologians, most everything was a sin.

It seems that their intent was to drive followers insane, with their own brand of fear-filled insanity.

People keep accusing themselves of sexual intercourse with the devil. Admittedly, Gopfert warns confessors against “readily believing”(Moraltheologie, II, p. 365) such confessions, and he speaks in this context of “madmen or fantasies of hysterical people.”

It might be possible to embarrass a woman who is certain she knows her theology inside out, but I was rather surprised one day to find that a man who thought he knew his theology as being based on truth, was willing to put it aside and allow his conscience to step in ... at least for a "breather."

Many years ago, a man and his wife of the Jehovah's Witness denomination came to my door to proselytize their beliefs. I invited them in, treated them with dignity, and we discussed our own ways of viewing issues.

When the subject turned to the issue of abortion, the woman made it plain that she looked down on women for what she perceived was "their heartless acts of aborting fetuses."

When I asked her if there was a woman in her presence that suffered from a botched abortion if she would help her, she immediately answered in a haughty manner, "I don't know!!! She chose to do that, so, I just don't know!"

I then asked the question to both of them, "From your perception, what do you believe Jesus would do in that circumstance?"

She stared at me ... speechless ... for a change. Her husband, whose head was hung as he stared at the floor, finally broke the silence. With a voice that was barely audible, he said, "I believe Jesus would help the woman."

"Remember my son ... in order for God to forgive you, you must confess all of your sins."

"Yes Father, and could I ask you a question about sin?

"Of course my son. I am your advisor in these important matters."

Well Father, you told me that God is offended by masturbation, and by all ways of having sex except for procreation."

"That's right my son."

"Well you know that my wife and I had sixteen children for God?"

"Yes, my son, you were good Catholics and God is very proud."

"Thank you Father. And now that my wife is through the change of life and can no longer give birth to more Catholic babies ... I was wondering if it is a sin according to God if we still have sex?"

"Of course it's a sin my son! Your soul's purpose of having sex is gone."

"Thank you Father."

"Bless you my son."

Christians make a big deal out of older men seducing young teenage males ... yet men old enough to be great grandfathers (if they had a piece of paper that said they were married) could molest young girls at will ... and that behavior would pass through law as though the laws came straight from a god.

In Hellenic Greece, the pederastic relationships between Greek men (erastes) and youths (eromenos) were similar to marriage in that the age of the youth was similar to the age at which women married (the mid-teens, though in some city states, as young as age seven), and the relationship could only be undertaken with the consent of the father.
