The paper was going for hero worship from the anti gun crowd and myrtardom with the left.

Nothing but a rebellious teenager testing their bounds and seeing what they can get away with. But when you are an adult you have legal AND moral responsibilities. Along with the monetary responsibility that comes with being on the wrong end of a lawsuit. They're all growmn up now.
