being an outsider i can honestly say this is the worst kinda place - cus im sure other towns here the same- for police harassment, profiling and especially OVERDRIVE 2 ARREST! Now I know they aint paid much here (hence the many stories of corruption (all hear say) I have heard of and I know that the excitement level has got to SUCK but, DONT ARREST INNOCENT PEOPLE WHEN U GOT ZIP 4 NOTHING AND HIDE BEHIND THE FACT THAT YOUR A "OFFLINE COUNTY" F THAT!! You have a major loophole to satisfy your need to capture yet the public cant access the records immed and bail isnt set immed. or within 24 hours and thats B.S!! You cannot HARASS and lockup people without CATCHING them in an act - i wonder how yall'd fare down South in my city where your leads and calls aint from SNITCHES!! Now if im wrong about any of this hey im new INFORM me please cus this is a sad sad version of JUSTICE in MY OPINION!!

I get what she is saying. Sometimes people are inclined to make a person they are snitching sound much bigger than they are. Instead of being an occasional weed smoker, you are now a member of some drug cartel. The police go with it and when you don't have someone to snitch on, they make an example out of you and give you 2x as much time as the person who committed the same crime, but "co-operated." Funny, there was just an article a month or so ago in the USA today about the Feds paying snitches and lo and behold, some of the information was false. Gee who could have guessed?? Now there are innocent people in jail because someone wanted to shave off some years by lying.

I've lived in Ptown for 13 years and could only name 2 names of the officers here but that's because I met them while they were off duty! The simple fact is stay away from criminals and make sure you obey the law! You are who you hang with so if you're hanging out with a known offender of any type it will automatically make you look bad! I'm not saying that's fair but that's the world for you. The word snitch is such an ignorant word to use... That's what children use to tell on their siblings or classmates. To sum it all up... If you don't want any trouble with the cops, stay the fuck out of trouble and away from people that associate themselves with trouble!

Will if someone is being targeted by the law simply by who they associate with, that is profiling. If u had a family member. They got into trouble. Are u going to not associate with them. Out of fear of being targeted, harassed, or arrested? I think not.

I said it may not be fair but that's life! Besides that, my family has a good level head on their shoulders and don't commit crimes or associate themselves with those that do.

It would also depend on the crime if I was friends with or related to somebody that got in trouble. If it was murder, robbery, or drugs etc.... Then I wouldn't have anything to do with that person. If it was something like shoplifting I'd still be their friend but probably would avoid going into a store with them.... If it were my child I'd beat their ass!

It's not life to be profiled. Technically its against the law. Profiling usually 90% of the time happens to minorities.

@imjustagirl69 Unfortunately not everyone's family is as perfect as yours. So a large portion of todays families do have a member who has been in some sort of trouble. Ijs

I was in court with a friend for an unpaid speeding ticket and the judge was talking to a man who had a misdemeanor of some sort and he and his dad shared the same name. He told the young man that he would try to be fair as his father had a lengthy criminal record. Funny thing is, the young man doesn't even go around his father. So sometimes it's guilty by last name, not an actual crime.

you guys need to stop hanging with criminals.and perhaps think about moving where you're not looked at because of your name or who you hang out with. You people act like this is new. I'm over 60 let me tell you it has always been this way.

@812 swagg, if you from the ville, you know what I mean. If you got a certain last name, you must be guilty.

These cops here have their priorities ass backwards. Back in November I was severely attacked by this guy I had been dating, I went to the ER and the police came and took pictures of my injuries. However they did not make him leave my home that night or even arrest him. Still to this day the prosecutor has not pressed any charges. Additionally, I caught some people in the act of stealing items out of my landlords garage. Did anyone get arrested? Of course no the cops just told them to put the stuff back in the garage and they left only after demolishing the rental house near the garage. Wtf WPD what happened to protect and serve.
