I was working at the Twin Coaches the weekend when it burned down. Sammy Davis, Jr was performing there. I was working the lighting crew for his show. We did 2 shows Friday night, 2 shows Saturday, and was scheduled for a matinee show on Sunday. When I showed up to work Sunday they said there had been a fire in the kitchen and the club was closed the show was cancelled. It didn't look like major damage. When I got up the next day my brother told me the place had burned to the ground overnight. I didn't believe him at first and said I was there and the fire was out. The offical story was the fire had flaired up again overnight and totally destroyed the club. As for Sammy's show, I was only 20 at the time not exactly my kind of music, but even today I still recall that was one of the best live shows I have ever seen. He was a true professional and a great entertainer.

Sammy indicated to me that his intent is to haunt you each and every Halloween by sh*tting on your porch. This was channeled to me by Lorna Garber from her grave.

Is there a record of all the performers who had shows at the Twin Coaches? I want to know when Patsy Cline performed? I have a signed photo of her! This has to be 1953 or 1954!

She was a friend of the family. When I was young, I spent many hours in the Garber home. Billy, John, Carol...all really good people. I have good memories of Lorna and Bill.

I'm thinking that you must be Billy. If so, you and I hung at a very young age.

Ironically, I was at the Twin Coaches in October 1955 when Sammy Davis Jr. and his uncles were performing. My date was beautiful blonde Harriet Laby, who I married almost two years later. That was our second date. I was a Pitt senior; she was a junior, from Brownsville, Pa. I fell in love that night. Harriet wore a very low-cut party dress, and invited me to a barn dance -- the first sign that she had designs on me. We made love later that night, and I was forever hooked. Dan Levitt

In the late 60's, early 70's the Temps performed there on a fairly regular basis, as did Smokey. I know I saw the Temps at least 3 times and Smokey once. My best friend's mother was a head waitress there and we got tables that were right up against the stage. Great venue and great times.

I am trying to research the time when Chubby Checker and Liberace were the Headliners. I must have been 10 or 12 years old and I attended the show with my uncle and cousins. We were asked to go on stage and do the "Twist". There must be some type of footage, 8 or 16 mm. All I had was an "Etch-a-sketch.:)Are there any archives around that can be seen?

My Great Uncle Clifford Beaumont built the Twin Coaches ,he owned and operated it and then sold it due to health problems. Calderones bought it. If you take a ride past the Cedar Creek golf course on the old road to Smithton you will pass his home that was built from a passenger coach you can see all of the windows of the train car.

Where exactly was the Twin Coached located? Is there a building located on that same location today?
Thanks

Heading South on 51, just past the 2nd traffic lights at GetGo, on the left just as you pass under the railroad overpass. There's a building at the back of the lot called Intec.
